Cowboys, Titans reportedly engaged in Pacman talks *Merge*

sorry, I just saw the other thread dedicated to this topic. Mods, please merge.

"Initially, they started with Dallas offering Tennessee a choice of players from its roster. When the Titans could not find a player on the list they liked, the conversation shifted to a draft pick."

I wonder which choice of players we showed out? :laugh2:

This puts more meat on the bones, I think. A more reliable source.

:)

I really dunno why some of you are so against this.
So what if he screws up? Cut him. We prob won't lose much.
If he doesn't, then hey, we have a top young CB on the team.
I would love if this happened.

crayton, spears and carp..:laugh2:

i am all for this one if it is for a late round pick.... it is all about risk/reward. if he pans out we have hit a homerun. it also frees up a first round pick for something else (assuming we are sure he will be reinstated for 2008).

That's sad, and I hope it's not true.

It's fact. It was proven in the 90's. Fans will tend to turn there head if the team is winning. Patriots did something that could have actually affected them winning games and do you think their fans are jumping of the wagon? No. Just like we still make fun of the Eagles trophy case being mt. It's nice to have high character players on your team. It's also nice winning championships. If it mean we have few low character players to do it. So be it. 99% of the Cowboy fans agree with this. 99% may not admit it but they agree with it. If they dont like them to explain them rooting for the 90 teams.

This news made my day. Low risk. High reward. Please don't make me have to explain low risk... That is all.

On another note.. If this happens it most assuredly means Jerry is going after McFadden. Book that thought and refer back to it later. I'm totally against waging the the proverbial house on McFadden but i'm just sayin...

Pacman gets a merge on the board. That's it. This most assuredly means he will be a Cowboys within days!

Even if we get PacMan I still think we should take the best corner on the board at #22.

Itr's not going to happen if Pacman becomes a Cowboy. Either Jerry is becoming more predictable or I am becoming cynical. I guarantee that if Pacman becomes a Boy that Jerry will mortgage the draft house to get McFadden. There won't be any CB at #22 becase #22 will be in the hands of another team (perhaps the Raiduhs). Jerry will pickup another CB in the later rounds. Brace yourselves folks. The pre-draft ride is about to get bumpy!

Scott Mitchell threw 32 TD passes in 1995, Barry rushed for 1500 yards, the Lions had 2 WRs over 1400 yards receiving, and 2 Pro Bowlers on the O-line, and the Lions scored 436 points that season, which was 1 point more than the Super Bowl Champions scored. Please do not waste my time with hollow statements about all the suffering of Barry Sanders.

I mentioned Barry Sanders because his contention was "gamebreakers win games." No one was a bigger "gamebreaker" than Barry Sanders.

It honestly wasn't that hard to figure out.

That is a popular misconception about Barry Sanders and it is false. Lomas Brown was a 7 time Pro Bowl LT for the Lions, and the Detroit Center, Kevin Glover was a 3 time Pro Bowler.

This smacks of the old Sanders-Smith debate but now in the form of McFadden.

Sanders had 7 different QBs in his ten years at Detroit. Brown was the only lineman that stayed for an extended period of time but he only lasted 5 years and left in 1995 while Sanders continued on for 5 more years. The only consistent entity that Sanders had was Moore.

As for line you can look to two players who totaled 8 years played over Sanders career when we all know that one bad player can ruin a line and the Lions routinely had 2 or more.

I just can't help but smile imagining the size of the star on the helmet protecting that big head of his. :D

This makes no sense.

Jones would be a hedged risk gamble but still a large risk to bet the farm on considering hes one punched stripper from a lifetime ban and there is no guarantee hell be reinstated in July.

Even if we bring in Jones were still going to need a CB as of April 15th as well as a RB and WR not to mention upgrades in dpth at places like OG/C and NT.

To trade all the way up to 6 we would need to trade both first and our second. If we were unwilling to do that I am sure the Raiders would have no issue finding someone else in the top 15 like the Texans or a similar club in need of a RB that could give them a better deal. Same with the Jets or any other possible trading partner.

I really don't know why people aren't talking about trading up to get Mendenhall, DRC or McKelvin which is infinitely doable in teh range theyre projected to go or even drop to.

I guess its the offseason and people are bored but really fantasy land is just that, fantasy land.

They took Sanders out at the goaline, not just one coaching staff, several did.

The bottom line for me with Barry Sanders has nothing to do with his teammates.

2nd and long.

3rd and long.

No team can overcome those situations (and win when it matters) as many times per game as he left his team in those situations while he looked for that amazing play. I am THRILLED that he was never a Dallas Cowboy.

Loved watching him. He was amazing. I don't deny it. I never would have wanted him on my football team. Ever...

I thought I was the only person in the world who noticed the size of his head in proportion to his body. He looks like a Peanuts cartoon out there.

For a long time, I assumed that he got the nickname, pacman, because of the size of his head. I later heard it was a name given to him by his mother because he played the the video game so much when he was young. :laugh2:
