You guys are silly. Leary doesn't have much value around the league, and honestly, not much value on the team considering they're looking at paying him $2.5M to sit on his couch on Sundays. Stop thinking emotionally and use your head.
The whole point of getting Leary signed the day before the draft was so we could trade him and move up. For the price of Leary and this year's #101, we could potentially move up well into the 2nd.

Agreed. He is one of the best guards in football and his contract is pennies.

Someone should value that.

What is a one year contract worth?

If you're trading a pick for him you also have to turn around and hand him a nice contract.

I'd be happy to take a 4th for him and save myself 2.5m this year and losing him for likely nothing next offseason.

I'll take a 3 or 4.. For a 5th on down i'd rather just keep him and have him for insurance.

I would love it if we could get Nick MArtin on this team to back up all of the interior spots.

Let's say we get a 4th for him and use it to take Jaylon. You can find cheap guard insurance.

I'd rather have Smith as a lottery ticket than 1 year of Leary insurance.

I am in love with that plan. Part one complete. Now lets get that defensive player we need. Add him to the player we get at 34 (hopefully defensive also) and we are well on our way to improving the defense.

Id like to see a player for player trade for Leary. Or for a 2017 pick. Bad time to trade players for current picks. May be able to score a 2017 day 2 from someone who missed and OG run

Player fr player would b great, ideally Leary fr a DE or impact DT, perhaps Leary n next years 2 fr Mo Wilkerson? Wilkerson would absolutely tear it up in this D alongside Crawford and Irving and IMHO, immediately nullify the loss of Hardy and Tank n Gregory for the first 4 games...

Classic case of fans overvaluing our players.

Leary is not really all that valuable. He plays OG which is often a decreased value position anyway. He also is only on a one year deal so no team is going to give up a lot for a guy that could potentially walk in a year.

If some team gives you a 4th, you should probably take it.

I don't see getting more than a 4th and to me I rather have the depth than a 4th rnd pick

Would you still rather have Leary if that 4th rounder can be parlayed with one of our other 4ths to move back into the 2nd or high 3rd to grab a guy like Spence, Dodd, Cook, or someone else who could be a potential steal? I originally wasn't cool with anything less than a 3 but considering the fact that we have 2 4ths already n could move up with an additional 4th obtained through trading Leary, I'm all for it.

I think you are a classic case of not knowing the value of depth. Players get injured especially lineman. Leary can step in this season and he is just as good as the starter. If Leary is traded for a 4th I think its a clear signal from the team that they know they will not be good this year but the Zeke pick says the complete opposite. So with the Zeke pick Leary is even more valuable to this team than anything. Look at the Packers last season. They had ZERO depth on the OLine and it ruined there season. Well ruined it in terms of being a Super Bowl contender and not just a playoff team.

Since the rumor is Dallas wanting to trade up to #32. And without sacrificing draft picks. Would you do this.

Swap 2nds, and send Leary to Cleveland for a 3rd and a 4th or 5th?
Or something similar with another team. If we go lower, then we get a 4th instead of a 5th. Or a pick next year.

I have not looked at the trade charts yet to see what teams we could trade with, but Leary wants to start. So it needs to be a team that needs OL.

I noted earlier, that the drafting of Elliot gives us four RBs. I would say you could trade Leary and say Morris and possibly save a good draft pick. Though, the Titans have Murray now, so that may not jive with them. Maybe with the Browns, but that's if the Titans don't take who you want.

I wouldn't trade Morris not after you just signed him. FA wouldn't want to come here knowing that.

I also wouldn't trade any RB cause Dunbar might not even play this season

Right now with Elliott, Morris and McFadden I personally think Dunbar is not needed !!!

I would simply carry the 3 RB's you have small dollars tied up in Morris and McFadden
so that's no big deal !!!
