Tore an ACl in '06 and then came back. After that it looks like Josh MCdaniels took him from NE to Denver when the Brandon Marshall debacle was going on. After Marshall signed, Jackson was released. He had a very good 2005 in Florida, leading the SEC, who knows maybe he'll do better in the warmer weather!

Chad Jackson absolutely tore it up at the scouting combine. He was clearly better than any other WR there. His problem is that he could not translate that onto the football field. Then he got hurt. Since then his career has been a bust. It seems like this kid just wasn't made to play in the NFL. I'll never forget draft day when New England thought they just drafted the next Randy Moss. Oops.
 
is he eligible for tomorrows game? or will we have to keep him on practice squad?

I love how people get all worked up by signings like this.

Who cares? What do we have to lose? I'm sure no one gave two ****s when we signed Austin either and very few thought Ogletree would be worth the time.

Gosh, give the guy a chance. It's not costing you anything.
 
It would seem as though this is one of his last chances at an NFL career. He would fill a need we have if he we think he can be taught how to be an NFL WR. He has a couple of things you can't teach: size and speed.
 
I liked Jackson coming out of college, but he has really not done much of anything in the league. I think it's pointless to sign him, I'd rather draft a WR in the middle rounds than waste time with him.

I was always on the Miles Austin bandwagon and I thought Olgetree was better than most people realized due to the fact he played at UVA where there was NO real QB!

Well the draft isn't for a few months so might as well see if there is anything on street right now.
 
I was big on him coming out of that draft. Surprised he never did anything. But I doubt he's worth anything at all if the Patriots couldn't even work with him. I can't recall them ever releasing a player and him playing better on another team.

Same here. I never watched him at Florida, but I remember thinking that he caught the ball well in drills at the combine.

But surely he's either not very smart or had a poor work ethic or something along those lines for the Hoody to give up on him.

It doesn't hurt to look, though.
 
Dallas can get a speedy Johnny Lee Higgins for a 2nd day draft pick!

I am *DETERMINED* to get Higgins into a Cowboys uniform! haha
