If Dak walks we may have no choice but to draft a QB high. In the past 10 years or so Lamar Jackson has been the only franchise QB that was taken past the top 10 in the first round. Jordan Love has a chance but the jury is still out.
Yeah. That’s my plan. If it were up to me. Burrow hit. CJ Stroud is a hit. There are more. Josh Allen. Why are you sandbagging lol

You’re assuming you’re going to be in position to draft a Burrow, Stroud and Allen? Two of them were top 5 picks and Allen went number 7 overall. Fans in Buffalo are frustrated with Allen. He’s had turnover issues and hasn’t been able to get the Bills over the hump. Burrow has had injury issues and when the SB was on the line a couple of years ago he couldn’t get it done. Stroud had a great rookie season but had a bad game in the divisional round. This fan base wouldn’t be happy with any QB.

That’s not smart because you have to succeed to MAKE the playoffs.
No kidding?
You seem to have missed the point. Again.

You are defining success as 12 win seasons followed by getting the boot early in the playoffs. Hey, if that works for you... great. Seems like a very low bar to me. Especially from a real man and football savant like yourself.

I envy you in a way. I wish I could be happy with participation trophies.

Lance, sign a vet, draft his replacement? Whatever option you choose, I think all can agree getting into the playoffs could be a struggle for the next year or two...that's the trade-off.

That's next year. I'm fairly sure if that's the plan to let him walk then they will have an inhouse plan.

"You have to succeed to make the playoffs"

You didn't say that?

They made the playoffs, so by your own definition they had a successful season.
That’s wrong and you know it. Quit your damn lying.

How about we suck and draft a qb top 5. Why isn’t that a plan?
I’m not opposed to drafting a QB early in round one. But that’s not a guarantee of anything. I’m ready to do that. But I’m not just assuming that’s all we have to do and it’s peaches and cream.

the Cowboys picking in the 30s would mean they either got to the NFC championship game or the Super Bowl lol

If Dak walks I would probably focus on upgrading the rest of the roster by actually grabbing some free agents for a change. Obviously you would still have some cap headache for 2025, but they should be able to participate in free agency if Dak walks and be able to push some free agent money into future years with 2-4 mid tier FAs. Then for a year you try to go the Baker Mayfield or Jared Goff route in someone with a few years of experience who has the physical tools but hasn't lived up to the NFL hype so their current team is moving on. I'd pair that with targeting a QB in the middle rounds of the draft to develop. If that blows up in your face then you end up with a draft pick in the good half of the draft and what should be a reasonably good roster surrounding a 1st round QB prospect.
