Hos - he bounced around a few years in your sand box. Believe he had a major knee injury at some point. We cut him - another wasted Lacewell draft pick.

Before we annoint Crayton, Copper, Crowder think twice. I think of the lot Crayton has most potential. But there is a lot of bloody soldiers who keep charging that hill.
Can I ask you an honest question?

I won't ask until you reply.

Mr Football - anything for you!
Since I have NOT given my opinion on whether or not we should acquire Peerless Price, why are you assigning me one? Isn't that a bit presumptuous of you?

You had no opinion - thats your deal. jk

I stated and was talking on thread topic. Never really ventured into your opinion. Topic was Martay Jenkins career off of my post on vagabond fringe WR's.........

Mr Football - I give you the floor!

seriously - bring it!

I do have an opinion. I always do.

Before we annoint Crayton, Copper, Crowder think twice.
Here you tell me to "think twice." It is the 2nd time you've assumed I am against this signing and spouted off with no evidence to back your advice up.

Not the first subject either. You like assuming you know my opinions. You have yet to be right when you do this.

Just a little 411 from Mr. Football.

I hope I'm not inturrupting this silly :pee: match.

I have no opinion on it... but I do think Nors is dead accurate on his original point.

I love Crayton and his potential, but let's face it, he may never be anything more than another Stepfret Williams. We've had a ton of these guys come and go over the years, and NONE of them have amounted to what Peerless Price has done in his career.

Price is a known commodity and a solid reciever who had the misfortune of having a glorified running back as a QB for the past few years.

Bring him in and make him fight for a spot.

I don't have a problem with bringing in Price. I do have a problem with your reasoning for bringing Price in.

If we continue to bring in guys towards the end of their careers and let these young guys ride the bench, when will you EVER KNOW what the young guys can do? I don't agree with your reasoning.

And I disagree with your reasoning any of these guys will ever displace bona fide NFL players. You missed my list of vagabond "prospects".....

Ireland, Parcells made the call and they are negotiating with Price's agent tonight in person.

IT'S TIME TO STOP COUNTING ON FRINGE TALENT.

Al Johnson, Glover have to fight for playing time. Fact is Price is better than anything we have behind Key and Glenn. Let the pups fight him off if they are all that.

You used this same logic with Henson 15 months ago. Move on, you will be bloodied again. Henson not ready and Bledsoe brought in, and the Romo lapped him.....

Price is a nice weapon for Bledsoe - and proven.

I see all the push back against a Peerless Price sign as a "slow down" to young WR's playing time.

Will any of that 3 ever catch 95 catches for 1250 yards? There is potential there. But no bona fide fact they can carry a #2 WR role during the regular season. Nothing but potential.

You get my point.

Gas that Jet up Jerry!

Nors,
I'm definately with you on bringing in Peerless. Personally though if I thought both Peerless and Warrick were healthy, I would have preferred Warrick.. But the 'Hawks snatched him up..

I think he is definately better than Crowder, Copper or Morgan.. So he needs to be the fourth guy coming in.. But I would not give him the #3 just because he has a past history with Bledsoe. Now should he outplay Crayton after awhile that is a whole different story.

A few more guys drafted in that vagabond WR area:

Bob Hayes 7th round.

Drew Pearson undrafted.

Butch Johnson 3rd round.

Tony Hill 3rd round.

Kelvin Martin 4th round.

Jimmy Smith 3rd round.

I am for Price.....if the price is right. I am sure 100 people have said that same thing, but its true.

I don't think this guy is worth big bucks at this stage. Is he willing to be a #3 and at times #4? Can he back up Keyshawn? Can he play ST? Is he willing to play ST?

Stop with the 3rd and 4th rounders - cherry pick this!

Ace Wright?
Sherrod?
Harper?
Jackson?
Jimmy Smith?

The odds are stacked aginst Crayton, Copper, Crowder. 3 years from now no one will remember 2 of the 3 and Crayton still has to prove he's an every down player in the NFL.

The fact still remains that at this point in their careers Price is no more proven as a #1 receiver than Crayton. We are loaded with #2 WRs, and based on what Houston did to us, we need all the help we can get on special teams.

Even if we never ever run a 4 WR set, we still need 4 solid WRs to make it through a season.
Last year we had TWO go down and there wasn't much left after that.
I love Crayton as much as anyone here, but I'm all about getting us some quality depth at the position. Key and Glenn are getting any younger either.
Signing Price just gives us more options. I really don't understand why some people are venomous towards him. I don't think anyone believes that Morgan is cutting it or that Copper could fill in as a starter if someone went down. Why not stockpile some talent? If Price doesn't work out....whatever, I doubt we would have lost much by cutting him in a year or two. Lord knows we kept Randal Williams around for 3 years.

Exactly - Price is depth add.
Crayton, Crowder, Copper - make them beat out Price..... If they can't so be it....
