guys, we're gonna need 4 corners next year, Henry is bound to get hurt, re-sign Reeves, and draft one in the 1st round

I don't understand why this signals the end for Glenn? If he can perform, why not keep him.
Check out their reporting about the Browns signing Ken Dorsey to a 3 year contract. They first said it might signal that Derek Anderson is gone after this year, but then they later claim that it indicates they'll keep Anderson because it's a sign they're trying to keep Quinn happy. I think Florio posts drunk more often than not.

I agree, but I really, really liked Welker and that deal. I thought they got a steal and that Welker was much better than his numbers looked. He was perfect for that system.
Yeah, I liked him too. But I didn't think he'd be this damn productive.

I think two fold - he is a shade better than Crayton and is really the second passing option now, behind Moss.

I think Welker's a little overrated for the simple fact that he needs Moss on the field to open up the secondary the way it is which is why he spent so much time on the bench. But so do a lot of slot receivers and he does a better job of using his speed thru traffic than Crayton. They're about even with their ability get open thru traffic, but Welker is a great YAC guy. His size really benefits him to squeeze thru holes.

both play in a different offense, Crayton is in a vertical offense, and he doesn't run as many slants out of the slot that Welker does

I don't think you can call anyone with 100 catches overrated. But, yeah, if he spent 50% of his snaps out wide as a #2, he wouldn't be nearly as effective.

Good deal for sure. Much cheaper than what the skins paid for Randle-El or Lloyd; and the boys have already gotten superior production. (Hee! Sorry, it' skins week, so I have to get in a dig.)

Watch them let Anderson go and then they win only 4 or 5 games next year. :bang2:

I dont want to seem like Im discredit him by saying that, but he needs Moss. Moss doesnt need him. Not to mention, he's basically a safety net to Brady like Clark is to Peyton and Witten/Barber are to Romo.

You are right, but I do wish we would run more slants and drags. I think we are perfect for that.

I don't understand why Welker needs moss. Most of welkers receptions are in traffic within 5-10 yards of the line of scrimmage. He gets open because he out-jitterbugs the one on one coverage on slants and is compact enough that he is hard to defend.

LOL!

This is the first fair catch reference in a Crayton post. We are really off our game tonight....

Very good signing.

As for Reeves, give him #3 CB money. Although he was serviceable starter, he made lot of mistakes and allowed to many completions, he still has lot to learn.

I am sure it fits with PFT's style, but I doubt it.

Besides, if this is the best we do to stop Parcells from raiding the roster and lose Ireland and/or Sparano, then it was a fairly weak pre-emptive strike.

Crayton is a good player, but keeping him is not a coup by any means.

My point is in recent weeks, secondaries have taken their chances alot more with blitzing Brady than earlier in the season and he's used Welker as his cushion constantly. They used to be scared to leave Moss one-on-one, but now they're scared to let Moss get deep enough to have Brady not under pressure to hit him. Moss puts more fear in secondaries than any receiver in the game and that helps his teammates around him. Everyone knows Welker does a great job of shaking tackles, but Moss makes holes in the secondary big enough for him to get thru.

Welker is just a good receiver in his own right.

Just watch what teams have done in recent weeks.

They are doubling him in many cases and leaving Moss and the others alone.

And it is slowing them down.

Remember when we put Greg Ellis on Welker? Yeah, that was a riot.

This is a GREAT deal for the Cowboys. They didnt overpay him at all. If anything we got a bargain.

Some stability for Romo along with Witten/TO and a sure handed vet capable of moving the chains.

Now let's draft a superstar next year, move Crayton back in the slot, and watch out. (Maybe Glenn comes back next year, then we're REALLY in a good position)

I think we need some depth at the oline...

But Crayton got a fair deal. And he gets to stay in Dallas. I'm sure that he likes being 13-2 a lot. Not to mention, his role in this offense will somewhat increase. I think he'll be the Antwan Randal El of this team, but better in a lot of ways... he can throw the ball. So don't forget that in the post season... We haven't done any flea flickers or anything like that, but that doesn't mean that we won't run some trick plays in the post season.

Oh, and apologies for being harsh towards you in a post. We all have our opinions. I shouldn't have written that.

Peace

Even Nate Jones was a riot.

Our defense is, by design, going to be susceptible to players like Welker, who just cut you up underneath. We try to get pressure and play deep coverage, but Brady can just go to welker on quick drops, that we really can't cover well.
