Current Enthusiasm Level?

I felt bad up until 2020. Now it is just an indifference. I passed up going to the Giants game last year in Jersey. It was raining hard and the tickets were dirt cheap and I took a hard pass
yeah i get it....i was at the Giants game last year (it was actually pretty nice so wonder if that was 2 seasons ago?)

Also - my "feel bad" comment is more so i feel bad being negative with you all on here - i know a lot of people use this place, like me, as a therapy forum....and i personally feel bad when i piss off the positive people or when i neglect to read something (like the Mafa spin piece yesterday on his performance) simply becuase I dont care.

I am excited about the start of the season. I always am.
Not just to see how the season unfolds for the Cowboys, and all the changes.
But for the entire NFL in general.

It does not matter my expectations, as I am not expecting any miracles. But I will enjoy the progress of the coaching staff and younger players and the team.
Oh, I am sure some frustration will set in. But then we can start talking when do they tank for that better draft pick.

I can't say I am enthusiastic on having a great season. As I said, not expecting any miracles. But football is back, so time to enjoy the games.
On a level of 1 to 10. Is that a 5 or 6?

4/10. Still have really good players in many positions and NFL is a high level product.
Yet.....
Management kills my love for the team and I see myself shuffling further towards NCAA football and Euro soccer.

Cowboys 4/10
Mavs 5/10
Cheslea FC 8/10
Texas Tech sports (football, men's basketball, softball) 10/10

I am just curious how my die hard Cowboys friends are feeling about the current and longer term prospects of the Cowboys.

1. I am not approaching this year as “this is our year”. It does not seem to be, and it’s shaping up to not be our year this decade.

2. Dak is just good enough to get you to about a .500 team. He’s probably going to win enough to eliminate a good draft pick but not be good enough to press for a SB.

3. Dak’s salary is a huge albatross.

4. Parsons is a fabulous player but let’s be real. He’s not worthy of a QB cap hit. Love the player but trade him for more assets and cap relief.

5. I like Shotty in the longer term. I like him in the short term but he will make mistakes and this team cannot carry him.

6. About the only thing that gives me any hope of a .500 season is the WR corps and Blue and other rookie back.

7. DT still seems deficient.

8. Jerry is going to have to work really hard to get me to eat the cheese this year.

9. About all we have going for us this year is that expectations seem to be pretty low overall.
Here we go again with another thread for people to display how miserable they are.

I will watch with hopefulness but don’t expect a playoff appearance. I have been conditioned for mediocre results from another poorly built team that has no depth. Just keep me interested until Thanksgiving at least :muttley:
lol that’s why I used to go to Europe in December.

I don’t listen to all the miserable people here so my expectations are high. We haven’t even seen the real team play yet and the rats are jumping ship left and right. All the haters here are fake t-shirt wearing fair weather Cowboys fans and I use the term “fan” loosely. And you guys don’t even realize how ridiculous and poor me you look.

I turned the game off at halftime. 3 and out was apparently the theme.

They did play linebackers didn't they? I didn't notice them.

No enthusiasm, none.
Jerry's mismanagement of the team for the last 29 years has totally sucked the joy I had in following this team.
It has become painfully obvious that as long as he is the GM we are NEVER going to have any post season success.
I can't wait for him to step down as GM so this team has a competative chance, that they don't have now.

Over/under on what week you quit this year?

I kept waiting for a Grier to come in. If I would have known the game plan was for Bazooka to play the entire game I would not have watched it.

my enthusiasm level is somewhere between my buddies....WhyJerry and Rockport.
