The Jets base for Santonio Holmes is $1M this year. Presumably so they could get and do something similar w/ a contract for Nnamdi.

Its not that hard.

Cmon you were doing a lot more than that, you tried to shut down anyone that mentioned we should go after him.

you regurgitated information from sources and very stubbornly defended it and when it turns out it might not be accurate youre not going to own it?

Newman's cap number is $10 million. If we did cut him, his dead money is only $2 million this year. You could *easily* structure Asomugha's contract to count for less than $8 million against the cap this year.

I'm not saying that we will or should, I'm just saying that it would be possible.

I was going to say the same thing.

Dallas can structure the contract to count for less than Newman's cut savings and be better off both capwise and playerwise.

Kinda glad to see the Cowboys hanging back a little to pick up free agents after the spending spree dies down a little.

makes me a little nervous with the number of positions we have in flux but it makes all the sense in the world. Still. would like to see Elam and Bowen signed.

49ers have made a huge offer to Nnamdi but Jets are his preferred option. Getting interesting

That's insane. Nnamdi and Revis in the same defensive backfield? Cant remember two such highly regarded DBs in their prime playing together. Maybe Lester Hayes and Michael Haynes??? But i think even Haynes was a little past his prime by then...

Mike Lombardi mentioned the Cowboys as his favorite to land Asomugha. Would you consider that a credible source?

Then I would be in a lot of company. You just don't want to admit that this was the common perception. You can squawk all you want but that does not change the facts.

You only want to believe that he wants $20 million a year and that there's no chance he'll sign in Dallas.

Anything disputing that seems to hurt you.

Nope and the bolded is why. No reporter has came out and even mentioned the Cowboys and Asomugha nor his agent making any contact.
