Jalen Hurts maybe coming back, but Lane Johnson who they had in the first game against the Giants isn't. Something to keep an eye on with Hurts potentially playing even though be may not be 100 percent.

Line is at 14 right now. That tells me Vegas knows the giants aren't trying hard to win this game. I expect to c all backups in the 2nd half.

Eagles will have all the motivation in the world while the Giants will have none. Usually results in a lopsided scoreline despite starters playing or not.

We just really need to hope for no injuries next Sunday. If the wrong guys get banged up, it could put us at a serious disadvantage in the first round.
Actually, the Eagles have all the pressure the Gants have a ton of motivation and no pressure. After the way the Eagles slapped the Giants around a few weeks ago in Met Life Stadium, I think the Giants have a score to settle.

I'll believe it when I see it. It could very well be a case where they play a few series to stay fresh and then he just starts pulling guys.

The more I read, the more I expect by end of the game, Philly is going to be playing balls to the wall and the Giants are gonna be gameplanning for their first round opponent.

We are the #5 seed for sure. Thanks guys for spitting the bit against the Packers and Jags.

I remember when this scenario played out in the Giants vs Pats game. The giants lost the meaningless game, but playing all out probably helped them to have to confidence they needed in the superbowl.

if Danny Dollars or any of our “stars” go down with an injury is what is pretty much a meaningless game, Daboll will have to face the intense NY media as well as the National media as to why he made this call. Is it worth it? What can you gain by playing key people who probably can use the rest to heal?
The only counter to that, is the Giants haven’t played well as of late.

They beat the commanders (obvious PI not called. Yes the hands to the face as well not called) and the Colts with Foles/Ehlinger.

In the playoffs, they seem destined to play Minnesota. It would be preparation to play well against Philly to get them ready for the playoffs.

You just cannot justify beating Foles/Ehlinger and then go into the playoffs against Cousins/Jefferson/Cook and be confident.

Anything can happen, it always does.

I still rest my guys as like you said, what happens if Barkley or Kayvon go down and you’re losing 20-3 in a meaningless game.

Giants arent going to play all out this week. Their focus now is preparing for the playoffs. All any NFL front office and coaching squad cares about in this scenario is preparing for the playoff game. Divisional rivalries, roughing up the Eagles etc does not have the same meaning to pros as it does to fans.

Momentum is also an artificial construct in this scenrio. Giants got their momentum in their blow out of the Colts. Mentality now will be "lets bring that intensity to the Vikings............ we have this meaningless scrimmage thing that doesnt matter next Sunday which many of you wont play in..."

I get what you’re saying. But beating Ehlinger/Foles and a team that’s 4-11-1 doesn’t seem like the win you need to hang your hat on

The packers haven't clinched that last playoff spot yet.
Seahawks and Lions still ahead of them.
Obiviously if GB beats DET they are out; but I don't know if SEA also wins, putting both the Seahawks and Packers at 9-8 ....who gets in based on whatever the tiebreaker setup is.
Here you go brother. Hope this helps...

The Packers have the advantage over the Seahawks and Lions. All the Packers have to do is win against the Lions next weekend to secure the 7th/final playoff seed spot.

Both the Lions and Seahawks have to win, plus have another of the three lose to secure that final 7th seed playoff spot.

Since the Packers will be hosting the Lions, the Packers will definitely have the advantage since the Lions play in a dome. I see the Packers winning and securing that final playoff spot.

This scenario can play out a few ways. The Giants could rest starters and get blown out by the Eagles and then Minnesota in the first round.

They could play starters and beat the Eagles and then lose to the Vikings.

They likely lose in the first round of the playoffs so it is a matter of whether they want to lose one of their last two games or both of their last two games.

I think the idea of resting starters when your team is going to get put out the playoffs in the first round is funny.

Wouldn't matter. The Giants won't be mentally prepared to win that game. They have nothing to play for. The Eagles are playing for home field.

They’ve been trying for that for the past two weeks and just got beat by Andy Dalton at home….lol

Not sure what your point is as it doesn't compare to this game. They are playing an opponent who has nothing to play for. The Cowboys and Saints had something to play for.

It doesn’t mean “anything” in the standings but beating the possible #1 seed, when they just destroyed you weeks earlier, could go a long way for building confidence in your team heading into the playoffs.

Yeah that nonsense isn't anything to play for. I meant something real.

Daboll is a Parcells guy. He won’t rest players but he won’t be stupid either. I’m guessing he may sit Saquan but everyone else starts and plays until a point the game is either seemingly won or lost.

If Jalan place they didn’t… if anyone told you they had no shot with Minshew a quarterback, then they didn’t know what they were talking about. Minshew is a God awful putrid mess of a quarterback. A very poor man’s Dak Prescott… Inconsistently very good stats, consistently gives games away.
That is correct, they didn't know what they were talking about. Also, the Eagles have problems with Hurts playing too.

I like it, he’s forcing hurts to play. Why let a rival QB get healthy. Smart move.

As expected, backtracking as he should, giants should and will use it as a bye week. Boys have nobody else to blame but themselves for blowing the jville game

I guess they have one reason to try and win this game and that’s to avoid SF in the first round. They would likely face Minnesota I think if SF takes the 1 seed and Dallas 2, Minnesota 3.
