Dak is not a Franchise QB

Now people are disappointed and are lashing out against Jerry, when they should be looking in the mirror if they think they've have been bamboozled. It's not on Jerry, it's on you.

Unfortunately self-reflection is not always a strong human trait.

Look it's pretty simple. You have a quarterback at the tail end if his career who is grimacing in pain after every minor NFL tackle, and you are in perfect position to take a premium quarterback that can be the future of your franchise for almost the next two decades.

Must make intelligent decisions.

Giants made the same mistake but that is no excuse. They will suffer as well.

Year 3 and nothing has changed. You can blame this on the coaches too but when the player also lacks talent the coaching can only do so much.

This front office just has no idea what they are doing. They sold the fan base the notion that Dak is a franchise QB after his rookie year.

Aikman is really first to hit on this point and I really do think it gets to core issue with Dak. Aikman said in interview, that Dak is forced to process reading defense faster now and doesn't seem to handle that well. The hope this off-season was that Dak would improve his mechanics (he worked with guru to help with footwork & throwing motion) which could speed his throwing motion. Unfortunately what we saw was QB who looked exactly like he did at end of 2017. Here is the thing, Dallas has no back-up QB so its not like Dak starting job is in jeopardy. It will just be Cowboy fans enduring long season watching broken QB finish year out. I still hold out a small glimmer of hope and maybe Dak has best game of his career against Giants. I say let it play-out...and see what happens against Giants. If Dallas loses and Dak looks exposed again...then media & fan avalanche will do its thing.

The inaccuracies and exaggerations about Romo have always been and will continue to be fascinating. 50 years from now some little old guy with dementia will be just muttering to himself saying, "Yeah I remember Tony Romo. Worst quarterback I ever saw. Threw five times more interceptions than touchdowns and lost every blasted game. That dang Jerruh would not get rid of him for years! It all worked out in the end though. They rolled that son of an INT off the field on a gurney. Ended up a quadriplegic. Should have seen him after football. I've been a jury is out person regarding Dak. There was enough in his first 2 years to be positive and enough to be negative. I felt he would've learned from last year and handle the pressure better this year having gone through the last half of last year. What I saw on Sunday didn't look like he has and is. It's just one game and I'll defer judgement for a few more games, but the jury is getting closer to a condemn verdict.. At this point, he has to consistently prove he can handle the pressure before the jury will acquit, 1 or 2 games won't do it.

I agree with this. We have our version of RG3 A one year wonder

actually what he is doing is worse, he is running away from his protection into pressure (that was happened on play he fumbled ball). Just looks like he is in whirlwind at moment and nothing is coming out clean. I still wanna see if his confidence take big improvement if he can just hit on one long play.

Common man, the question wasn’t based on salaries, just on QB play or expectations.

True but it’s not realistic. Fans bases are frustrated with some of those “franchise” QBs just like we are with Dak but for different reasons. Some hurt too much (Luck), turn it over too much (Ben/Eli), cracks under pressure (Matt Ryan), not accurate, etc.

Again, any back can lead the league in rushing if they are getting more attempts per game than any other back. I expect a back with his size, strength and speed to use it. Last year 4.1 ypc was not acceptable. It may be for you, not me.

As I said after the game, I don't think the oline was that bad.

Dak just held the ball too long, and wasn't productively using that time while he held the ball.

QB coach needed to address our most pressing offseason need - getting Dak back on track. And we hired the water boy *who was already here* while Dak went off the rails.
