When was the last time he beat a top nfl team ( Philly last year with a backup is meh). Saying beating a team with a winning record is writing your own narrative

He doesn’t win in prime spots against prime competition.

You said beating Philly last year with a back up??? That backup was a quarterback. Their starting defense was still intact and Dak did what he was supposed to do and led us to a win. That backup quarterback don't play defense. Their defense was healthy. So that weak excuse is dead.

Also..... its interesting you decided to bring up backups, because our offensive line starters didn't play together for 2 years until this season. I wonder what made you conveniently leave that part of OUR backups out of your conversation. Hmmmm.....

Last I checked, Dak is 8-4 vs the Eagles. I guess those were all backup quarterback wins.....

Colin Kaepernick reached a Superbowl too. So according to your logic, he's on the same level as most of the great quarterbacks to have reached Superbowls and didn't win, correct?

I thought this was a team game but you helped me realize that no matter how bad a team, the ownership, or the coaching staff is.... its solely up to the quarterback to win a Superbowl. No matter what.

These are your words, correct???

You STILL didn't explain how Matthew Stafford could be better than Dak, but Dak won his first playoff game as a rookie and Stafford didn't win his first playoff game until his 12th year. Stafford's record vs winning teams is 11-72, Dak's is 23-25.

Why didn't Stafford have more Superbowl appearances in 11 years with the Lions??? You said a quarterback is supposed to overcome all situations with a team and overcome the mistakes of the lesser talented teammates correct??

These are your words, correct?? So what was Stafford's 11 year excuse in Detroit for failing to win a playoff game and reaching Superbowls?
Did either Kaepernick or Stafford repeatedly come up short in the same end of game scenario??
Your Whatabouta argument doesn't work. The issue with Dak (for me his only issue) is he can't overcome these late game deficits when he needs a TD.....you can deflect blame, but it happens repeatedly and he appears the constant. Yep there's other factors but for instance the O-Line isn't improving any year soon, so we're stuck with it.
He may overcome what appears a crisis in confidence in these scenario's, if he does he may get us there ,however, he's 0-3 in recent years and I'm sure he's aware of it.

He may be paid to overcome these issues but it’s not possible. I literally just saw Josh Allen lose last night and Lamar lose on Sunday because of their teams. We for some reason hold Dak to a higher standard.

Exactly.... Dak is the first 4th round pick quarterback in NFL history to be held to higher standards than 1st and 2nd round pick quarterbacks. It's truly hilarious.

Dak has played 3 top 10 passing defenses this season. He has lost 2 and barely pulled out the third. So let's hold off until week 17 before we pop the champagne.

Ahhh how quickly people dismiss his play at the end of the Eagles game. Don't worry it's coming! The train is going to crash in the playoffs. That's what separates the real QBs from the fakes.

If Dak isn't a real quarterback.... yet he's a 4th round pick with a better winning percentage than most 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks.... and he's perennially in the top 10 out of 64+ quarterbacks...... then I guess according to your elementary logic, there are only a handful of "real quarterbacks" in the league?

I swear you kids are so entertaining.

He’s shown it twice against the 49ers….
he's lost the last 3 games against the 49ers, thrown 1, 2, 3 interceptions each of the games respectively and has failed to score more than 17 points so not exactly sure what you are referring to.

Well to get where we want to be, yes, we need to hold Dak to a higher standard.
Nothing wrong in insisting he shows us he can perform at the clutch moments, indeed, if he does we'll probably achieve what we want (or at least will accept).

Just curious, what QB outside of Mahomes do you believe is overcoming this situation you describe?

I never said he was, I was responding to a post that mentioned that Mahomes had failed in a SB!!!

It’s not just you though….I see quotes like this all the time not directly referencing a super bowl or one game. “Daks not mahomes” “burrow did this”. Dak will never be in that top 5-6 area. I think when people stop using this perspective as an argument that can help them appreciate the player.

Who are the top 10 passing defenses? I can see the 9ers….but I can’t imagine Cardinals or Eagles being top 10 in that regard.

You said big games…so now big games are the ones he lost?

Let's see where we're at in January. Late January. That will be the measuring stick of success or not.

As of right now, we haven't beat a good team yet.

So don't quote people incorrectly, I suggest you address your comments to the individual and don't assume. ;)

So it’s Dak against the 53 players on 3 of the 10 top passing defenses. Dude, stick to Madden. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Well holding him to the standard of performing at a high level is one thing. Wanting him to overcome false starts and his linemen whiffing on blocks? I sounds great in theory but its not Madden.

Hang on, those come back wins came mostly in 2016. I think he's had 2/3 since the injury.
If you take away the occasions that we only need a FG (going down the field isn't my issue, it's the ultimate all/nothing drive where he's got to get a TD) he tends to come up short.
We discussed his trailing >2mins (and >4mins) stats in the summer and Dak comes out really badly against lesser QB's Stafford/Cousins/Allen.
