As a buddy of mine said yesterday, there is absolutely no reason Dak Prescott should be the highest paid player in NFL history.
It's the eggs he keeps laying in game number 18 that have a lot of us concernedHe'll be back. The shtick is too important to him.
I've never seen anyone hold to an account bet. It's inevitable that over 17 games Dak will lay an egg in a loss so he'll be back then.
Actually there is one compelling reason: because he was negotiating against Jerry Jones. As a buddy of mine said yesterday, there is absolutely no reason Dak Prescott should be the highest paid player in NFL history.
Kind of like all the Davidians who kept saying over and over and over that if we did not re-sign Dak, then we were "guaranteed" to be in 5-12 purgatory indefinitely. ( even though the team has won five of the last six games that Dak missed).I guess what everybody wants to know is why did you say over and over again "Dak is not coming back, just accept it you Dak over Dallas fans".
Clearly you were just talking out your arse, but why would you state something as an absolute fact if you really were just guessing?
Honest question.
Dude you're talking to someone that said Micah was a wasted pick, Brad Kaaya and CJ Beathard were more pro ready than Mahomes.BAHAHAHAHAA!!!
Hold this L.
Tom Brady raved about Dak postgame.
NFL legends and experts keeps telling you that you don't know football, yet you refuse to let it sink in.
I respect you man but good gamble trade? So, it was still a good gamble trade. We still do not know what he really is yet.
There was no guarantee they would have selected a RB with that pick. Zeke was going to be the guy all along.I respect you man but good gamble trade?
That 4th rounder could have netted an actual RB on this team. Not Elliott and Dowdle tandem. Come on man.
Jerry traded for him hoping he could replace Dak. It was very apparent early he couldnt. Not only are they paying him 20 million this year, for being a 3rd string, they traded a 4th round pick in a year that the 4th round probably had the most value at a bunch of positions. Not to mention the 20 million that could have been spent in FA on a RB.
That's not necessarily true at all. If there are base salaries/roster bonuses that are guaranteed in outer years those would go to the new team in a tradeNo trade clause is irrelevant at this point, his contract is almost 96% guaranteed (231 / 240 guaranteed).
All that guaranteed money would accelerate into the cap all at one time if Dak was traded.
The Cowboys have stated they would picked a QB in this draft if not for Lance. There was no guarantee they would have selected a RB with that pick. Zeke was going to be the guy all along.
They would have selected another OL or defensive player. Possibly a WR, then they would not have picked Flournoy later on.
Pretty naive. There would have been a bidding war and he would have made more than 60 per year without a Superbowl win. Vegas, Carolina, Rams, Giants, Cleveland Pittsburgh, Saints, maybe Denver and the Cowboys would have been bidding against each other.Even if we won the SB this season there"s no way he'd command 60m per year in free agency. Why did Jerry do it? Completely nuts.
It's still greed on Dak's part, especially since he said weeks ago how he wasn't looking to get top record overall pay. He lied. That's proof of greediness. Why didn't he take less, say like $55 mil/year or slightly less than that if he truly was a man of his word or cared to help the team out? CeeDee took just less than top overall pay even though he deserved to be top paid. Why didn't Dak do the same?Greedy???
Dak got paid what the market allowed.........that is not greed, that is capitalism.
Your buddy needs to go take an economics and business class at the local JC .. and take you with him.. because you guys clearly don't understand the market economy. As a buddy of mine said yesterday, there is absolutely no reason Dak Prescott should be the highest paid player in NFL history.
Ya great now post his post season record and his stats in all those game.Yeah three 12 win seasons in a row and another great season almost underway but let's strain to find the negativity.
The only teams the Cowboys are bidding against is themselves!Pretty naive. There would have been a bidding war and he would have made more than 60 per year without a Superbowl win. Vegas, Carolina, Rams, Giants, Cleveland Pittsburgh, Saints, maybe Denver and the Cowboys would have been bidding against each other.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong but there is value in our QB not having to worry about the contract through the season. Yes, he should of been signed way earlier to free up cap but no matter how much time has been wasted....If you know you're gonna sign him anyway....no point in wasting anymore of it.I wasn't necessarily totally for or against signing Dak this offseason. What I struggle with is how Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb thought signing Dak yesterday was a smart football move when there is no need from a cap perspective or a football perspective. 6 months ago? Definitely. 6 months from now? Yes. Yesterday?
It will be interesting to see the details. I wonder if his existing non-guaranteed $29M base salary this year is part of the $231M guaranteed after converting to a SB, RB or guaranteed base.
12 wins by no means come easy. But they can also be deceiving.12 wins is mediocre? Are you a math major?
