Depends on which Dak we get back:
First 6 games of last season: elite Dak.
Last 12 games Dak very up and down.
No depends

daks down is all rush brings to the table. its that simple, way more upside, same level as Rush when not performing well. rush has done nothing special in this 3 game sample size for 22 against well less then steeler opponents. getting about near perfect support from his team.

give that to dak ,hes already showed you 6-0 last year win streak, 6-0 against the east 7-2 last 9 against just about all of the east.. with better team play Dak upside shows when they torpedo a game hes average qb and well that happens to many starters. hard to overcome 14 penalty's and a bad gameplan and defense that allowed 4 straight scores to start a game and got out physically by the run game AGAIN!

never have a few here been so insecure about their guy

Just go back to the reactions to Tyron's injury. Tyron went down and the posts about, "season over," started pouring in. Season hadn't even started and the fanbase had given up because 1 guy on the line went down and it wasn't coming from just Dak's critics.

How many fanbases with top QBs would react that way?

The moment Dak is back behind center, you will notice Tyron's absence.

The opponent scores in all but 1 loss from 2021 are higher than the average scores by Dallas in the 2022 games with Rush at QB...

i.e. They've won with Rush because of the defense.

They scored 20 with Rush at QB in 2021.

One game with Dak in 2022 is too small of a sample size to be statistically relevant. There were 16 games in 2021 for Dak.

None of it is statistically relevant - even 3/4 games.

Otherwise, you can calculate a p-value and std error to prove statistical relevance.

seriously??!!

that what you got from that??

something wrong with DAK? look at the defense? sts? coahign and level of competition? its all right there in front of you..

the penalty's by the OL alone, not mentioned, torpedoed all those drives against those teams with better records still outside of the Denver game, all close and we were in it until they end.. Daks better, PERIOD, nothing wrong with dak, exception, hes not superman and can't cover up all the miscues in those games.
the 2022 TB game same chit, different year , THE wide open pass happy and well regurgitated and easily picked apart offensive gameplan, WSRs dropped passes, weren't open, once again defense allowed TB to run far too Easily, get TOP off balance etc etc etc..I mean with support Dak can wins, without it he at least can generate more points but can't control the chaos around him.

this is pretty obvious without those stats , most sane fans and Media, ex-players, current players and coaches all day daks better.. odd huh? those 48% of fans who want rush all are mostly Dak haters or blind very fringe fans parroting nonsense they see from other fans.:hammer:

I never said Dak isn’t a better QB than Cooper Rush.

Post their QBRs and/or other advanced metrics

Counting stats don’t mean much to me in the year 2022. Those are the same type of stats people were using to say Jaylon is still good or Zeke is still good.

Daks worst games have come against the toughest competition which indicates that he doesn't have the fight in him to go up against the tough opponent. Yea he's good to beat up on the Giants of the world, but put him up against a decent defense and he falls apart like a millennial who has been told to clean his room.

  • Stats for Dak & Rush
    • The stats point to Dak being a really good QB.
    • The stats point to Rush being a backup QB with an elite defense.
  • The Cowboys in 2021:
    • 1st in points scored
    • 2nd in passing yards
    • 3rd in passing TDs
    • 4th in Net Yards per Pass Attempt
  • Team Points per Game
    • Rush
      • Rush starts in 2021: 20
      • Rush starts in 2022: 22.7
    • Dak
      • Dak starts in 2021: 32
      • Dak starts in 2021 close score games: 29
        • Score difference of less than 10 points.
  • Defensive Help in 2022 Wins
    • 14.3 points per game allowed in 2022 wins
    • 28.2 points per game allowed in 2021 losses
  • The Cowboys in 2020 (Dak vs other Backups)
    • Leading the league in passing yards at the point that Dak was injured.
    • ~300 yards ahead of the 2nd place team in total yards for the 5 games with Dak.
    • 32.6 points per game with Dak
    • 21.1 points per game without Dak (Andy Dalton at QB)
Should change this to "stats with Amari and Gallup/Wilson" vs "Stats w/out Amari and Gallup/Wilson"!

That may be a more accurate assessment of the difference!

Herein lies the rub.

If Rush stays in the starting role of any team he will have chances to go up against the premium teams of the league and those games feature the ability to dissect and take advantage of QB weaknesses.

That is what makes these teams elite in the league.

We are all enjoying the win streak we have with Cooper Rush, and he certainly displayed admirable characteristics we wish Dak had, but let's be real. The hour is going to strike midnight on Rush and there will be games where the carriage will turn into a pumpkin.

I don't know what the answer is for the Cowboys, but I can't imagine that going with Rush is the answer for a long playoff run.

Dak obviously has not taken us on a long playoff run either, whats ur point ?

Defend 1-3 in playoffs in 6 years...or going 6-6 his last 12 games......

Bad OL, terrible WRs, poor play calling, bad TEs not enough practice or game time , receivers run wrong routes, run game is bad, should of caught those passes the list is long what they don’t explain is why a PS reject, released twice back up can win with the same players, OC and defense. Not a hater just don’t see any homers telling why this is.

Unpopular opinion no one wants to hear: Best case scenario for Cooper Rush (not the Cowboys) is that he gets hurt in this upcoming Rams game.

Get out while he’s hot and can’t play again before the small sample size wears out. That way teams looking for a QB in the off-season only get to see the success before he inevitably fails with a bigger sample size.

Remember when people thought Mike White was a good QB last year? Gardner Minshew? Taylor Heineckie? Case Keenum? The worst thing for mediocre backups is extended playing time

They have. They say Moore is calling easier plays for Cooper.

And this rub is exactly what has happened to Dak.
Rush is beating the tomatoe cans of the league but he also did notch an exceptional win against the Bengals who yes we're in the SB. When is the last time Dak has beaten a good team? I hope I'm wrong but when Dak got paid I said people are human and there has to be whispers in the locker room and everyone knows those get louder when he stinks up the field like in the 49ers game but doesn't accept any blame. Rush is like a breath of fresh air right now.

Good points.

Dak is 0-6 since mid-season last year against playoff teams completing 140/239 58% of his passes
and throwing 8 TD's and 7 INT's. (Den, KC, LV, AZ, SF, TB). Good thing for his LV
game numbers or it would be much worse

Throw in Tampa this season, I'm pretty sure Tampa is going to make the playoffs this year, and that is 0-7 vs playoff caliber teams.

I'm sorry, but for $40 mill a year I need better than 0-7 against playoff teams.
