Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo Set To Retire

But but but..Jerry said he had 5 years left and it's not a damn debate.

This goes to show what an absolute ******* idiot of all idiots Jerry Jones has become.

I knew it was a bad contract when he had back surgery a week after signing the new deal. Thank God Dak Prescott fell in their laps.

That's why it's foolish to release him. Take the cap hit this year and keep him as the 54th player and emergency QB. He will easily be talked back to the field by any team with a decent OL and halfway decent shot at the playoffs.
yep if I'm the Cowboys I'm not releasing him. all this talk in my opinion is just another ploy for him to get released. This could get ugly. if Tony seriously follow through with retirement...I'm going after the bonus money if I'm Jerry.

** I stand corrected. Dallas will designate Romo as Reserve/Retire list and thus get can benefit of a release (spread over 2 years) while still retaining his rights. **

The
Lol Texans

They had their chance. Trying to be real cheap like there are qbs out there on Romo level free. Romo guarantee himself a job and these other teams will go down in failure.

Local guys(Archer) and the national guys are reporting it.

Only reason we would still release him is if we are hell bent on making him a June 1st release to spread the cap room.

Unless a team is planning an unprecedented trade post June 1st...we won't need that extra money. We can still free up money from Witten if we have to (which was the purpose of his restructure).

Yup JJ cover his bases on this one.

See? That's what I thought as well. But I saw your posts and I was like "Well, maybe I'm wrong."

Nice correction. Thanks.

Just saw on espn that cowboys are allowing teams to talk to Romo....

For a mid level pick Houston would have been an odds on favorite for the super bowl.
They would have grabbed the spotlight from Dallas for a couple of years and stuck it to jerry.
Now ? Well good luck fellas.
You just go back to being an after thought
agree...I have no idea what the Texans were thinking.if you were going to make that Osweiler deal.... you had better have had some kind of backup plan...Now? :lmao2:

Thanks Tony for everything.

And I hope the Texans go 0-16 with the worst quarterbacking in NFL history.

Yep. Tony is smart and very well spoken, but it is a totally different skill to be able to talk endlessly for hours on end and be entertaining while doing it.

yup, people need to rewatch some interviews:

Mumbles in a deeper tone, little energy, tons of deeper, slow thought....all bad for nfl commentator.
