What I don't understand is the hatred for Murray.

The last two years he posted 2966 yards from scrimmage.

You'd have to go back and count every yard he posted until half way through 2010 for McFadden to accomplish that.

people are more binary than they realize at times. i loved having murray here. i hated seeing him go. i didn't view him as a top 5 RB in the league until last year and did he rise up or did others like jamal, forte and others just fall back some? is there really a DOMINATE rb in the league at this point? as much as i hate to say it, peterson is the only one i can see who fits that category.

wish him well except when they play us and move on. those following around in hate are usually doing it for their own benefit and emotional well being, as sad as that is.

Johnson is kind of freshly in the dumpster but I'd still love for them to bring him in for a look, if he still has some of the explosion he will be good behind the hole opening line

Chris Johnson is not going to come in for a "look". He will only sign if the guaranteed money is enough to guarantee him a roster spot. He had made tens of millions, he does not need to play for a non-guaranteed 800K.

Injuries could definitely make that the case, as well as with Williams.

I had kind of counted out Dunbar because I felt with this RB group we needed as many starting-type backs as we could get, but I think the odds are against both McFadden and Williams entering the season healthy, so I think Dunbar's job might be more secure than I thought.

Garrett heaped praise on Dunbar in the press conference yesterday. Intelligent, hard worker, very fast and talented according to Garrett.

It's OTA's. It's work. It's getting familiar with your new team. It's learning a new playbook. It's working with a new line. It's competing for a starting job. It's stepping up.

It's a missed opportunity.

If these OTA's were as meaningless as some people claim, why have them at all?

They're only minimized when they show poorly on a player. If the reviews were positive, only then would they matter to some people.

Yeah I was being facetious. They aren't even hitting with pads and the wheels fell off...

Reading between the lines (based on your post concerning Garrett's comments) I'd say Dunbar is a goner.

I still don't get why the Cowboys signed this guy.

jerry liked him as a college player.
last year he was replaced as starter by latavius Murray who then did good behind the Oakland line.
So even though not injured, when was replaced by a rookie who did more behind that same line.

Oh Jerry!

I hope not but I think this guy is a swing and a miss.

He does have all the leverage since every NFL team is knocking down his door for his services.

I still don't get why the Cowboys signed this guy.

They lost their starting RB and their backup was dealing with off the field issues that could have led to a suspension at the start of the 2015 season so they had to sign someone. What better option did they have at the price they wanted to pay? They wanted to go cheap at RB because they're convinced any back can produce behind their OL.

The Niners have had 3 relatively young players retire because of the beating they take playing football. Chris Johnson has probably made more money than those 3 players combined. He does not need a job.

He will wait until a team has an injury at which point he will have the leverage of being the best RB available.

You made a similar comment about McFadden saying he's made tens of millions making it sound like money wasn't important to him. If Johnson is so well off after making tens of millions why does he need a lot of guaranteed money? You always come off like you know exactly what players are thinking and you do it with posters on this board. You don't know what he needs or doesn't need unless you have a quote from him saying what he needs.

Latavius Murray started three games behind that line, he averaged 4.9 on 12 carries, 3.7 on 23 carries and 3.7 on 10 carries. and in the 4.9 game he broke a 25 yarder.

He did not do well starting behind that line. Look into it a bit further, he had only 84 carries for the year. Is anyone here saying Randall is better than Demarco based off of his 51 carries?

Garrett heaped praise on Dunbar in the press conference yesterday. Intelligent, hard worker, very fast and talented according to Garrett.

After I heard he was breaking linebackers' ankles in practice last year, I expected him to have a bigger role as a change-of-pace back. I wanted to see us mix in that speed element on screen passes, underneath passes and draw plays, but we barely incorporated the things he is supposed to do best.

I would hope that if we do keep him we actually find a way to use him. Otherwise, intelligent, hard worker, very fast and talented is just empty praise.
