Darren Woodson finds out if he gets elected into HOF tonight *Not Elected*

He doesn’t deserve to be in. He was good but not HOF good, but there’s a lot of players in the HOF that were not HOF good.
It’s a popularity thing

How many safety’s in are worse than he was?

It's his 3rd year as a finalist but without the hardware it's still iffy.

I just don't want to see Eli get in with his first year of eligibility.....but those 2 Lombardis and his last name aren't going to exactly hurt his chances, lol
3x SB Rings... No hardware?

Astounding that he is still denied the HOF.

He's a much better safety than Packers HOF safety Leroy Butler, imo .. and his INT stats isn't far from John Lynch who could not match up in man coverage the way Woodson could...
Lynch had to be schemed/protected in Cover 2 zone.

Eric Allen slander is weird. 12th most ints in nfl history. 5th most pick 6s. Darren better than that?
He's an Eagle, so there's that. And some of them are claiming Woody bias? Lol. Plus, chances are most slamming him didn't even see him play. It was surprising to me that Rodney Harrison didn't make finalist over Woodson. When they were both semifinalists, no one wanted to have that discussion about who'd make it in first among them. So Woody being a finalist was a gift, honestly.

Problem is Harris didn't get in until like 40 years after he retired. Canton is really harsh on the safety position for some reason.

If woody is going to be the "gatekeeper" for safeties than I don't see modern guys like Eric Weddle or Eric Berry getting in.
Whats your opinion on John Lynch and Steve Atwater getting in? The gatekeeper was John Lynch imo.

Huh ? He was the measuring stick of excellent safety play textbook . Multiple SB teams and all time leading Cowboy tackler . If Cliff Harris is HOF so is Woodson
No. He was not the measuring stick.

He had three really good years. He was not an elite generational player like Lott or Attwater.

And stop with the dumb "if so and so is in the HOF then this person should be" rants. This isn't fantasy football. I know you kids don't understand this stuff, but let me explain it to you like you are in elementary school -- when Harris played, careers were much shorter. Tear an ACL, Achilles, or labrum? You are pretty much done. No arthroscopy. Harris played in the 70s. Woodson played in the 90s.

How you gonna compare those two?

1350 tackles 23 interceptions multiple SB winning teams and yes was looked up to as textbook this is how you play safety . Sorry the “ kids “ memory goes as far as yesterday but breakout some film and enjoy this is how you play safety in the NFL courtesy # 28 .

And since when are others in the HOF not a measuring stick of who deserves to get in. Dumbest thing I’ve heard since “ Woodson doesn’t deserve “ got on here and started insulting others he disagreed with . Oh boy
“ here we go “ …..

If Weedle or Berry get in before Woodson something is really rotten in Canton . Yes the safety position always seems like an afterthought in football for whatever reason .

He was good and had a consistent career all the way to the very end.

I guess with his induction, that cleared all the 90s cornerbacks that were good enough for the hof.

Browner, Woodson, and Robinson to name a few would have to get in before Weddle and Berry.

Odd that everyone ignored our founding owner.

Woody will get in one day though.

He's going to be in that no mans land of the Hall of the Very Good
