So "personal reasons" isn't a gamble? Sean Lee had injury concerns too. He was a gamble. You can sit here and downplay these "gambles" but Jerry and co. have been gambling long before now and with the history they have had since 2010...they seem to be doing something right with the draft.

The results for this statement are?

I have a question. As a medical professional, isn't the surgeon obligated to disclose whatever information he has to all 32 teams, regardless of his team's affiliation? If so, did we actually have insiders information?

No. He totally saved all the important info for Dallas. Ya, know. Just cause.

LOL you're not thinking clearly. The butt hurt has somehow scrambled your brain.

The Cowboys have cashed in on several gambles in recent history. They've also hit on plenty of draft picks over the past few years- probably more than most teams.

There's plenty of legit gripes for any reasonable fan to have with this organization. I'll never understand why some fans insist on making things up on top of it.

Cowboys 2nd rd picks 1995-2015

Take a look at that list and tell us how many of those gambles have paid off.

I really believe the surgeon has an obligation to his patient to NOT tell anybody anything based on HIPAA regulations. I believe it is up to the patient who gets permission to have that info.....

Not the way it works when you team has a vested interest in your health. There are obviously some HIPAA rights that are waived.

Wow, was at work and just caught up. So torn on that move. I get their logic and like that the team is thinking of the future but did we really need to take him in the 2nd round?

Hope he turns out like Lee minus the injuries.

So at this point, who are our top choices for the next pick?

I keep reading that we have no plan but I do think they are following a model. Pick the highest rated guy on their board no matter why he fell down to them. They have gotten talent that was rated higher than they picked quite a few times over the past couple of years. They are stocking up talent no matter when they play. We may not like it but they are trying to get the best athletes that they can at the spot that they are drafting. You could argue that they are being disciplined by taking a guy who won't help them this year even though he is the best athlete.

Again....we may not like it but it is an approach.

2nd rounders generally play in their first year. Screams luxury pick. We were 4-12 last season, not in the playoffs? If you really believe in giving Romo the best chance at a ring, you don't take an IR player @ 34th overall. Illogical.

That 2nd round pick we could've gotten was going to do what for us?

Geez, what a dunce. all 32 teams passed on Jack in the 1st round and some passed on him in the second. The Cowboys had medicals on Jack and decided that
Jalon was a better pick than Jack. What's so hard to understand. Time to take some pills and go sleep it off.

OK instead we'll burn a 2nd on a player we could have easily had in the 3rd and won't even play this year instead of bolstering our terrible DL. Good call

They are clearly going pure talent, but the risk on that second pick is high...
