You asked why PacMan is treated like a special case, and now it's unfair to point out why he's treated like a special case.? You want to know why he's labeled a "thug"? It doesn't have anything to do with his skin color or how he wears his hat, it has to do with the fact that he's constantly getting arrested. Terrence Newman isn't a thug. Jay Ratlif isn't a thug. Marion Barber isn't a thug. PacMan is a thug. Sorry, I can't ignore just that because he wears my favorite color of laundry on a football field like you so easily can.

I enjoyed my college days. Backpacked around the world, and saw a lot of crazy things. Enjoyed my 20's as well. Funny enough ... never had any of those things ever happend to me, much less all of them in the span of two years. Never showered strippers with $81,000. Just a boyscout I guess. And apparently neither have 99.99% of NFL players since there have been thousands of players come and go in the league in the past 5 years, but the list players suspsended for a year boils down to 3 or 4.

Because you didn't have the money...

I'd make it rain like that if I had that kind of money.

Oh. In your esteemed opinion Pacman is a thug. Thanks for the clarification. Financially, you clearly were nowhere close to where he is in his 20s. He can backpack around the world 20 times over anytime... Everyone is different.

Your boy scout reference is funny...

Here's an experiment. Take 50 former boy scouts who are now in their 20s and give them each 81,000 dollars. Then let's see how many responsibly invest it or payoff bills and how many go on shopping sprees and hit the town after midnight. I'm going to go out on a limb and say those percentages would be fairly even.

I think most of the people that routinely stand up for PacMan are mostly high school and college kids and have very little concept of real world responsibilities. To them the concept that you might have to put aside what you would "like" to do for your real world responsibilities is a foreigh, crazy concept they can't understand.

You know, it's funny, so many of these poster suggest that athletes have lives that the rest of us can't even fathom and "real world" rules don't apply to them. Yet, 99% of athletes don't frequently get into trouble time after time like PacMan. 99% of athletes don't need a bodyguard hired to protect them from themselves like PacMan. And out of an hundreds of professional athletes who live in Dallas between the Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks ... only one was at Ludacris' after party getting into a fight in the bathroom. So evidently, it's not all professional athletes who live this lifestyle ... it's just one very, very stupid one.
That's a damn good post.

Just the fact that he is hanging out with thugs like Ludacris concerns me.

And how do you know Ludacris is a "thug", you people amaze me with your silly statements.

Wow. For all of this there has to be a police report. Can you post a link?

I can see where this single incident is probably over blown. I don't doubt that at all, but something did happen. Something substantial enough that the police were involved even if they did not issue an official report. There are 52 other guys on the roster and they did not have to deal with the police at 1:30 on Tuesday. That is telling even if the whole story is overblown.

Lucky ladies. I made it rain once.

Apparently, you're not supposed to do it with quarters though...

Apparently PacMan didn't either, considering the bill collectors he has on his trail, house foreclosures and the DA in Vegas charging him for unpaid bills at Casinos. Funny how it seems people who are stupid in other aspects of their lives are also typically stupid with their money.

I don't have $81,000 to blow away in one night, but I have enough to be a very popular guy at the strip club if I decided to blow a vast quantity of money away. But, Boy Scout me, I prefer to put the money in other things. And once again, there are thousands of professional athletes and millionaires who apparently aren't getting into trouble time after time after time like Pac Man. Just just because you can doesn't mean you will.

I'd make it rain like that if I had that kind of money.

Explains a lot.

He is arguably our best performer in the secondary right now. No?

He may be the most athletic and have the most upside, but the best in our secondary? Through 5 weeks I dont think he has outperformed anyone - and IMO, his performance level UP TO NOW can easily be replaced.

We can also add that he has added nothing to punt returns up until now

I can't find the police report, and from what I've read about the police report, since the bodyguard and the hotel declined to press charges, Jones' name and the bodyguard's name aren't on the police report.

However, two seperate spokespeople from the Dallas police department, Deputy Chief Vince Golbeck, commander of the central post division, and Corporal Jerry Monreal of the Dallas police have both made verifying statements to the media that Pacman and his bodyguard were involved in an alteraction in the bathroom where Pacman threw punches and during which hotel property was damaged....

The evidence is there and the events occured...
