The reason why Newman is getting dragged into this is because he opened his mouth and said several stupid things this year. This is what you get.

Yeah. It was real "stupid" to tell the head coach to "practice what he preaches" and hold players and coaches accountable. It was real stupid to tell the head coach to take control of a sinking ship. He just did it in an Old Testament fashion that many people don't understand.

It was "real stupid" to call unknown cowards, 'cowards'.

So Newman needs to address Deion's comments one way or the other?

Using Deion Sanders to try and pin Newman down is suspect, again.

So, let me get this straight. Terence Newman is going to call out the "cowards" in the media and not confront them, face to face when he knows who they are. Then, he is going to tell Deion Sanders that Romo and Witten are the moles or cowards. He is going to do this knowing that Deion Sanders will probably blab it all over televison and reveal who he was talking about. If he does this, Newman can't "hide", anymore

If Newman is the "coward" some of you call him, he isn't going to want Witten and Romo to find out about who he was talking about. A true "coward" wouldn't risk his name being linked to Tony Romo and Jason Witten being the cowards by telling Deion Sanders anything.

A true coward wouldn't want to face Romo or Witten at work everyday. That is why they would not confront them or calll them out.

Cowards don't take risks like telling Sanders anything. They are cowards, and cowards go under deep cover.

They don't hide, and then, blab to a talking head about who they were talking about, because they would have to face them. A coward would never put themselves in that position.

Yeah. You see it.

TNEW is a "coward" for not going to the unknown cowards' faces and telling them what he thinks. How dare he call out unknown cowards in the media. Afterall, Newman knows who they are. Oh, wait, Deion Sanders isn't biased in this case. Using Deion Sanders to pin Newman down is suspect. Owens taints him.

Didn't Newman get in a fight in the lockerroom one time, so I don't think he's a coward. If he was dumb enough to think Romo or Witten were the moles, he would confront them, face to face, imo.

I wish Newman would address this. If Owens is in his ear, he needs to wake up, but I highly doubt Newman was talking about Romo and Witten. There is no proof.

Innocent, until proven guilty, but what ever...

Some can continue a witch hunt or Newman hunt.

So I go back to my point that TO has created sides and setup an environment where you have many players going at each other. Just like Philly and San Fran before that. Unfortunately this is following the same pattern.

I know people will think I am a TO basher but I have been one saying TO is different to all of my friends and family. I have a TO poster in my office and a TO jersey. I believe the mainstream fans see his role in all of this. It is the TO defenders that are out of the majority. How can you not see the coincidence? How could the same thing happen in his previous two stops and he not be involved in this locker room division?

So what should Newman do? He made some statements calling unspecified team mates cowards who aren't held accountable and then Deion (who supposedly has a connection to the organization) comes out on NFL network and emphatically says Newman was talking about his team's QB and star TE. What should he do? Address it or not?

So we have Deion talking and Newman talking and your contention is that TO is somehow pulling the strings...

See Post #87 in this thread. Nobody is twisting what Deion said. Eisen asked him who was Newman talking about? Deion emphatically said it was Romo and Witten. Whether or not Deion was implying he heard this from Newman or not is irrelevant. He said it in such a way as to make it clear there is no question in his mind who Newman was talking about, as if it is pointless to even ask the question because it is plain as day. That puts Newman in the position now of either confirming it, denying it or remaining silent and letting the controversy fester. It will be interesting to see what he does. ;)

It wouldn't shock me. And I didn't mean to suggest that the OP might have twisted on purpose. It's just so often the case that people react to hearsay, and then when the clip or transcript comes out, there's a qualifying word or context that makes it clear the episode was just commentary in search of a reaction and not actually a story. That's what this sounds like to me.

If it has legs, though, I'm sure we'll be talking about it all week this week.

Deion is a VERY good friend of TO. There is definitely a group of players who have lined up behind him just like players did in Philly. What he did in Philly was to get people on his side, create an us vs them in the locker room and it blew up and became a media frenzy. At the time it was happening many were saying that it wasn't TO's fault because he wasn't the one talking, it was McNabb. But in the end once he left, it came out that it was TO.

Sound familiar?

It's up to him. If, and that is a big if, Newman was talking about Romo or Witten, like Sanders stated, they (Romo and Witten) probably already know, because a person or true coward, that didn't want to confront them head on, isn't going to risk being held accountable to them, by blabbing to a talking head on television. Cowards don't take risks. Talking to Sanders is a coward's suicide.

That is the point. The entire team and fan base have taken sides. Just like in Philly and San Fran.

Talking poorly about Newman on this board is blasphemy.

Don't mention injuries or ball-skills, or the enormous contract he signed. Just believe that he is one of our best players because he shut down Steve Smith a few times years back.

You forgot the one about Newman being in cahoots with Meshawn.

I know he was supposed to do some 'business deals' with him last off season. Not sure if they ever happened.

I wonder if he tells Meshawn he's a coward for not talking guff to T.O.'s face, but instead using his platform on ESPN to talk garbage?

Ok......you are a smart guy. Why did the team rip apart this year? There have been a number of players who have mentioned that this "mole" was still a problem. There was a revolt by the WR's that frankly was an anti JG, Romo, and Witten movement and that gone away either. There is no question that this is not a team that is together but instead a team that is backstabbing each other and are not acting as a team.

But it was smart that he went on TV last May to talk about #38 right.

What did he say again?

Oh yeah. He said that Roy looked like a 'Deer in the headlights' last offseason, was working to control his weight which is basically saying he was a fatso and finished up the segment with a trifecta by saying Roy also 'had a bad year' in coverage?

I suppose he was trying to right the sinking ship that was Roy Williams with those comments as well right Mrs. Newman?

I can definately see this happening for sure. So, you might have a split lockerroom where Newman's loyalties are crystal clear, nothing cowardly about it. However, this is speculation, still. Unless, Newman comes out and states if he knows the cowards and reveals them, we will not know.

Get Owens the heck out of here. This team won't win a title with him, imo. He has a track record of wrecking lockerrooms.

The bottom line is this. The fans don't know what went on inside the lockerroom. There are "reports" of Witten or his agent being the mole or one of them.

I do think Witten stood up for Romo in the lockerroom. I wish Romo would stand up to him.

I'll ask you as well. What happened? Why did the team rip apart? There is a reason why the saying "where there is smoke there is fire" is a common phrase.
