I really hope he's kept and developed but I have my doubts.
I'm having trouble finding a spot for him. I guess he could still bump McKeon off the roster, or beat out John Stephens for that fourth spot, but I don't know if we'd keep him and just two other backs. Since he can single-back, I guess it's possible but I don't know if we would want to go with an unproven backup to Pollard and then just have him, too. Of course, with the way they do practice squads now, it will likely come down to who we feel we can get to the PS since all players can be brought up three times. I won't be surprised if we put both Dowdle and Davis on the PS (because I don't think at this point we'd have any trouble getting them there) and then that gives us six weeks of potential activations.

The dude has done nothing but embarrass defenders at every level he has every played at. I think what we saw in the preseason game against the Jaguars strongly indicates that he’s going to keep it rolling in the pros.

I’ll be interested to see how he plays against NFL starters, but so far it’s been nothing but good.

I would say thanks for your two cents but given the value of your opinion I would rather not have to make change.
it's incredibly apparent you're not fond of making change. no surprise there hero.

I'm kind of like a broken record on these bubble roster guys when I constantly say it usually comes down to STs. He strikes me as the type to be a good STs guy on all 5 teams alignments. Add in his blocking, receiving and ability to run if needed and hopefully on short yardage downs and he seems to have the perfect bottom of the roster skill set for us. Question is, is he good enough. The other thing that would help him make the team would be if a clear #2 RB wins the job outright. We will definitely have 3 RBs on the roster. We may have 4 if we keep a FB. If we aren't sure who will be the #2 it will likely cause us to keep both of the finalists which might make Luepke #4 at best. I think at worst he is a PS guy. Not sure he will get enough eyeballs on him for another team to roster him and if he is picking between practice squads I suspect we have a leg up.
Bubble? He isn't a bubble guy.

Of course he is. So, are you saying Luepke is absolutely on the roster or absolutely not on the roster. Or did you just not read what you were quoting?

No, Vaughn is on the roster. Didn't notice about Luepke.

I need to see how he does picking up the blitz. I do not have any concerns with him running or catching the ball.

Based on his college tape, he is good at picking up blitzers and puts forth his best effort. He obviously isn’t going to stand them up like a 220 lb RB, but he gets in their way as well as he can.

Hopefully I can still grab Deuce as a late Round pick in my fantasy FB draft. He might be getting too big for his britches at this point (see what I did there)
My son & I have been mock-drafting a lot this August. Deuce is simply never drafted. We always pick him up in the 2nd-to-last round, right before getting a kicker with the last pick.

No one knows about him, and since he's a late-round pick and so small, etc. he's not on anyone's radar. That could change of course if he continues to flash in pre-season games.

RB's are in extremely short supply this year (fantasy-wise), but yet there's still 2 RB spots to fill, so we are finding people are reaching for them in the early rounds, leaving plenty of WRs, QBs, TEs in later rounds than they've normally been available.

My son & I are treating Deuce as our dark horse this season...

It looks like Deuce Vaughn is going to get a lot of touches this weekend. Here is what is in a DallasCowboys.com article today about Wednesday’s practice:

  • A large portion of running back reps were given to Deuce Vaughn on Wednesday as the hero from the preseason debut saw more designed runs and passes go his way to finish off the last padded practice in Oxnard. Vaughn's evolving implementation into the offense both with the first and second-teams should increase the confidence of the rookie out of Kansas State for his future role in Dallas. (Nick Harris)

It seems like he practiced a lot with the first and second teams, so it appears like the team plans on his playing early and often. That is good, IMO, because I want to see how he performs with more decent players around him. I guess that depth chart didn’t mean a whole lot.

Anyway, it is going to be very interesting. I’m so glad football is back.

well if you hadn't paid attention you'd known that Tony Pollard was out a couple days for the birth of his child and they haven't been running him that hard in practices as he is the clear number one so it's giving other guys opportunities,,.. So just to be sure people aren't acting like this might be a sign he could take more snaps from Tony Pollard I don't think so but hey I wish our whole entire team and every player on it as much success as they can get.
