I have zero problems with any player asking for the moon. I may think that a certain money figure is ridiculous but the player cannot be faulted if a team pays what's demanded. It's economics, supply and demand. Likewise I have zero problems with any team exerting control over their salary cap. I used to but it is the nature of the beast and it will never change under the current CBA format.
Good or bad, all contract negotiations finalize at some point. Bryant's situation will work itself out as well. On a personal note, I care only that players do not publicly proclaim security, etc., as a negotiation tactic. Every athlete shares inherit risk playing any sport, especially those playing football. No amount of income will overcome that risk. It is a tactic that individuals like Terrell Owens used in the past. I'm on record for saying Bryant is a different player and better individual than Owens. I would hope Bryant does not make me a liar even within the context of this particular topic.
