he will get his money whether its in dallas or somewhere else
That the truth.

Congrats to you (seriously, no sarcasm), that cube life isnt good for anybody.
People look at 13m and say why is he complaining?
But what if your talent was worth 40m at the sign of a pen but you were only getting 13m? I'm sure you'd be miffed.
Or how about if your colleagues who are worse than you are were making 100k a year but your employer was giving you 33k. You wouldn't complain because there are some people on food stamps?
Stop it.
Then why doesn't Romo do it?
Romo is the 12 highest paid QB and as we know QB position get paid more. No one question Dez after a loss, Romo gets the pleasure of taking the blame. Comes with the territory
He looks stupid complaining about a lack of financial security from a deal that will pay him in 1 year more than 99% of people make in their lifetimes. Before the corny comments ensue, I'd like to remind people this is a BUSINESS. Just because you'd take $13 million in a heartbeat doesn't mean Dez should. He has every right to maximize his value and financial security for his family.
and where has romo ever tweeted and complained about money offered to him? He has ALWAYS gladly just signed what was offered. Never once has there been "Negotiations" with romo or witten, for example. Heck, tyron wasnt even a negotiation...he expressed thankfulness and signed as well.
That's what insurance policies are for. That isn't sufficient security if he goes out there and breaks his neck.

He's not happy at $13 million this year, but you think he will be happy with $11 million a year for the next 6?Do the deal.
Six years, worth $65 million and $35M in guaranteed money. That’s more than everyone else but Megatron. If Bryant balks at that, then you can play hardball all you like. The Cowboys are on the verge of something really special. It would be a colossal mistake to jeopardize that by alienating one of the reasons you’re this close.
Get the deal done.
That's not the point.
He's top 3 (I'd say #1) WR.
He deserves to be compensated for it.
What if you were the best at your job in your company, but were getting paid significantly less than your colleagues?
Wouldn't you be asking for more money? Get a new job, maybe?
Well for one, he's not going to be technically underpaid relative to his peers. Next year he'll be paid $13MM which would make him one of the highest paid WRs that year.
Two, if I was getting paid significantly less than my peers but then went in and asked for a ridiculous pay raise, I'd suspect my company would laugh me out of the building.
So it's a two way street here. If Dez thinks he's worth $17MM per, he's going to lose. No one will pay him that.
He isn't talking about guaranteed money. I guarantee you the cowboys will give more than 13m guaranteed lol.
The 13m he is talking about is his franchise tag #. He wants a long term deal, he even stated this in a retweet afterwards.
If all he wants is 13 million per year with big guaranteed, I would say this is all on the front office. That is a great deal.
13 million per year for 7 years, first 4 years guaranteed.
I don't see Dez retweeting anything? Then again, I don't speak twit, so I dunno.
as opposed to the billionaire owners lol....
these threads are always so predictable.
I think you're right and this tweet is not about contract negotiations so much as it's him addressing the "selfish" backlash he's getting from his threats to miss game(s) next season because a long term deal isn't done.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, no. What do you think he would do? Put all his money in a mattress and take out $150k per year for the next 50 years?13 mill for one season. Between agents fees and taxes, let's generously say he got 60% of that. That's 7.8 mill for a year. Let's say he suffers a career ending injury. He's done. 7.8 mill to live on for another 50+ years. That's about 150k per year.
