Sorry, but I don't recall waving a white flag. But I do know the schedule gets much tougher the rest of the way. Not many Tampa's, Carolina's or KC's left.

Today I saw a team make the same old mistakes they've made the last 2 years and then throw in some new mistakes and barely beat a pathetic winless Chiefs team that was compared this past week to the '89 1-15 Cowboys.

However, trends do matter. I have yet to see Dallas play an inspiring 4 quarters. You see, the '07 Giants at some point did play a good game, and then another and another, as strung some wins together and then took the undefeated Patriots down to the wire. It'd take Dallas doing the same thing and then some. But so far they haven't shown any signs they can do so. Doesn't mean it's impossible, but it is improbable.
Good. I want the schedule to get tougher. Back in 2007 I feel the weak schedule we played contributed to a soft team.

I can show you games from any Super Bowl season where we did not play an inspired 4 quarters. You know it and I know it. That isn't a pre-requisite to a Championship.

Winning is, and damn me, we won today. I wish you could enjoy it. I really do. It was a dang entertaining game in the long run.

Doing it for any team is Chicken Little nonsense. Yes, a team with a 4-1 or 5-0 record is more likely to get there than a 3-2 team and a 2-3 team. But the bottom line is 2-3 teams and...GASP...3-2 teams make the playoffs every year. Despite the hand wringing this team is not doomed.

Why is it so hard to admit that? I will never understand that.

I am fine with saying the team has to improve, but that isn't the sum total of the claims I am attacking. Is it? You know it isn't and so do these guys even if it will pain them to admit it.

If this team showed any signs of improving I would be with you.

you just did it again!:laugh2: no, the stat he posted about this team playing mediocre ball in december and the last 8 games of the season even with "a healthy Romo". to be honest you use the injury excuse too much. it's part of the game. teams play hurt and lose players to injuries all the time and still have success.

The guy just doesnt get it. He's plugging his years and yelling loudly, hoping that will get his point across

I guess not if you live in France.

Had we lost today I'd have given up on the season. That's just me personally. It was a close game and to have come that close to a disaster I think helps explain a lot of the back and forth on this thread. Hey anything can happen but I admit I'm on the camp that thinks this team is in trouble. Still that little part of me that has hope after a win too, but, I've been down this road so many times now.......

I don't say this to be offensive. I doubt it. I really do.

Wait, you want me to take statistics from a single month and project them over an entire season, rather than taking entire seasons' worth of statistics and projecting them over the season?

And I'm the one cherry-picking stats?

Romo was healthy in '06 and '07, what's your excuse for those end of the year declines
I've never made the claim that Romo has played well in December. But I think that's a pretty irrelevant argument when it comes to our record over an entire season. Hence, you look at the games where he's healthy in the past two full seasons and this season.

I laid out a challenge to utrunner07. Name all 12 playoff teams right now. No one can do that. I could go pick a random season and give you the records of all 32 teams after 5 weeks and unless you got lucky you couldn't do it for any season.

What is that supposed to prove again? Whether or not he can name the 12 playoff teams now isn't going to improve or lessen our chances.

I can just imagine that somewhere some Rams or Chiefs fan is liking their playoff chances because no one can definitively name all the playoff teams tonight.

Jeebus man... You have a season posted in there where we finished 8-3... exactly what Theo is believing we could finish. Your parenthetical doesn't change that fact, no matter how much you think it does.

Our performance declined over the course of the season and culminated in a pathetic december and playoff exit

Par for the course

Pretty irrelevant? its 25% of the season. How can you say its irrelevant. Besides very few teams have the season wrapped up going into december. December is critically important ogt.

What makes you think I don't enjoy the win? I enjoy the win just fine and yet can still see we played like crap for over 3 quarters and will have trouble making the playoffs.

It's irrelevant when you have more relevant statistics to make a comparison.

A win in September counts as much as a win in December. Thus, comparing an entire season is more relevant than comparing just December.

I can assure you I would. Even now a part of me believes they might...but I just see the history and have been suckered in too many time before with this team.

Ithink it's very relevant, considering if we decline at a similar rate this year we might not win a game in december

December games are typically more important than September games.

And people complain about the soft mentality of our players. This takes the cake.

I'm absolutely certain that you think the stats you cherry-pick are relevant.

I'm 100% certain of it, I assure you.
