We're frustratingly inconsistent and unlucky. The offense has the potential to be the best in the league. The defense shows prolonged flashes, but ultimately is a major let down when it counts.

We can beat the best handily and lose to the worst in a disgusting manner.

I think we end up righting the ship and going 11-5.

Please point out where we beat the best. I am just waiting to here this.

We're better than the awful teams and worse than the good teams. Know what that means? We're a horribly average team, which wouldnt be so maddening if we didnt have 10+ Pro-Bowl caliber players.

Witten, maybe. But the TE position is so stat driven that unless he's in the top three in yards/receptions, he probably won't get voted in.

I hesitate to add to the stupidity of this conversation, but if we're 2 points worse than the best and 6 points better than the worst, that puts us at above average (i.e., average would be 4 points worse than best and 4 points better than the worst).

Just stop. Getting cute and playing dumb doesnt change the fact that this team is very clearly going nowhere, whether you acknowledge it or not.

I hope you're right. I agree with most of your assessment but I sort of hit the end of my Rope of Optimism last week.

All are still pro-bowl calibr players at this point in their careers. Felix has never made a Pro-Bowl, but I think most will agree he has that kind of ability. Maybe Choice, too.

No, sometimes he isn't disciplined. And when you multiply that times 11, you have an extremely undisciplined defense. Am I saying he isn't good? No. He's clearly our best defensive player, but jumping offsides is undisciplined, period.

Missed tackles and penalties make our defense a below average defense.

just because a player jumps offsides for a play doesn't mean he's undisciplined, it just means he made a mistake. you have no idea what discipline means, obviously.

a disciplined athlete will make a mistake and learn from it. an undisciplined athlete will just keep making mistakes over and over again. understand?

Objectively, you cannot in good conscience make a case for 11-5, you simply can't. I can say Kansas City or St. Louis will go 11-5, that doesnt mean I have any logical reason to believe it.

Yes, I do understand, and by your definition they're both undisciplined, along with Spencer, James, Newman, Jenkins, and Hamlin. They will continue to be that way until we get an owner who can hire another coach with balls, who will hold players accountable.

I don't want to see them apologize for the win at all. It's a win they had to have and they got it. Of course, it was the ugliest game I have seen them play in a long time.

What I do want to see is talk about their mistakes today and how they will correct it.

This team never learns. No one is going to hold them accountable for the way they played this week because they got a win. Play like crap against the worse team in the league, get an eek of a win, forget about playing like crap, fail to improve. This record has been played before. This is why this team will end up 8-8. Until there is some accountabilty (among other things) from these coaches and staff this team will sputter in mediocrity.
