Ya'll can laugh at the RW haters all you want, but if he lays another egg this year he will be fileted worse than T.O. could ever imagine.

Roy Williams got paid like he was one of the top 5 WRs in this league. While off the top of my head I can name 15-20 I'd rather have - we're stuck with him.

So that questionable work ethic, playbook difficulties, hurt foot, etc. Won't mean **** next year, if he doesn't produce he will be the most hated man in Texas.

And at this particular point, I am more excited about a healthy Miles Austin than a healthy 'focused' Roy Williams.

It wasn't a franchise crippling move, but damn I sure would like to have 14 draft picks.

You would only have 13 picks. We traded our 6th for their 7th. So that's a push.

And we would be crossing our fingers hoping the guy we draft becomes even close to what Roy Williams is.

sorry I loathe deion, I dont understand why anyone gives an ounce what he has to say. He is almost always wrong and no one ever goes back and asks him what happened, since he seems to know everything.

I couldn't say it much better then that. It seems like he only sticks up for his friends. How man times did he tell us how good Adam Jones was going to be, and yada yada about him. I liked TO as much or more then the next person, but he is on the decline and wasn't getting open. Let's get an identity on offense (run the ball, we do have 3 pretty good backs), then play action the piss out of teams. I think with TO gone it will allow people to look at the whole field instead of feeling compelled to throw it in a certain direction.

So me, Irvin, Deion, and Troy Aikman all know how much of a piece of trash Roy Williams is but the homers think him working with Tony Romo in the offseason will make things all peachy and think he can replace TO. I laugh at you all once the season starts.

Judging from your tone, You will probably be banned by training camp from the site, at least I would put money on.

and secondly if your going to come here to root against Dallas, why not just go root for buffalo?

Sanders just has a opinion like all the other mediots...

Because he wasnt a practice player doesnt mean he cant comment on how important it is....we have mediots give their opinions on how to run a football team....on how much a distraction there is in a locker room is....etc...etc...and most of those mediots never stepped on the field or played a sport.

Its just a opinion....

btw...Sanders didnt need to practice hard.....basically Sanders was so gifted and talented that all the coaches needed to do was tell him to play man on a WR ....and usually the results were that WR was taken out of the game.

I think Sanders knows a little about WR's.....

If RW cant beat single coverage then we will have problems.....lets just wait and see....Im really hoping to see a improved RW from last year and hopefully Romo and RW connect.

Its sad watching fans of this organization, or so they say, act the way they do towards guys like romo and witten.

I guess its hard for people to realize when they have it good.

I agree. I may not agree with Deion but I have no issue with him giving his opinion. As for RW and Romo I think both know they have to make this work which is why they have been working together the last 3 weeks prior to the 1st team work outs scheduled for Monday.

Or won't show your face during the season if you're opinion of how things are going to go doesn't pan out.

You'll be one of those typical posters that will talk loads of crap right now but if things don't start turning out the way you think they are going to you won't show up but the moment there is one game where you can say "I told you so" you'll come in here chirping.

We have a group of people that do that around here...They're called Giants fans.

Thats what fans do.....some always look at the positives....some look at the negatives ...some do both.......its doesnt make anyone less of a fan because they dont agree with the masses.

Whats wrong with bashing Romo? or Witten? or Garrett? Its just a opinion...some of us are not pleased with Romo's decision making....or lack of ball protection......oh well....

Most of us base our opinions on what we hear and see. Some think the mediots are fabricating crap to cause a stir....some believe everything the media spews......

It doesnt make us any less of a fan if we disagree with the teams decisions....or fans opinions.

So some posters thinks the Cowboys will have a bad season.....oh well....because they wish that doesnt make them less of a fan. Maybe they are wishing that because in the long run it will be good for the Cowboys. Coaches fired....Players replaced....etc...

I usually am very optimistic....and then end up disappointed in the results....some maybe are doin the reverse. :)

fair enough. But that sig says it all to me. If you think that romo and witten are the guys that belong in something like that then fine. I think its foolish.

I am not sure we will have a good season either. But there is a difference.

TO is a declining WR. I do think he was at least nearing the point at which his on field production was coming close to being a wash with his detrimental aspects. He got yardage in games, by getting a ton of throws his way.

RW11 needs to step up big time. Hopefully the performance we saw out of him was a combination of a foot injury and not having been in this particular system before. Heres hoping he improves. If he doesn't then we did likely make a mistake on several different levels.

Even if RW11 doesn't improve I have a hard time imagining our whole offense suddenly turning to trash. We have a good QB, 3 good RB, an elite TE and another guy who looks like he will be a good TE. I could see some 2 TE/2 RB sets coming.

And for those who claim TO is a top 5 WR. In the history of the game theres an argument to be made. Currently in this league I just don't see how anyone can actually put him in there right now. The question on TO is does he slot in amongst the about 7-10 range or is he below that now.

Roy Williams does have a lot to prove with the Cowboys.

But I'll say this, and I enjoyed watching TO with the Cowboys the last few years . . . . all athletes' skills peak and eventually decline.

It happens to the great ones as well.

And often when it happens, it can be quite sudden. The decline is NOT linear (unfortunately for GMs).

IMO, TO's skills have peaked and they are on the decline. TO may have a year left, maybe two left, where he is still a good WR. His days of being a great WR are gone, IMO.

If the staff thinks that Austin's skills and athletic ability are on the upswing, and they have faith in him, we should give it a shot. If they have faith that RW can gain over 1,000 yards receiving (which he's done before) and can be a number 1 target (which he's done before), it's time to move on with younger players.

Just my 2 cents . . . .

GREAT post. I couldn't agree with you more.

You ignore that a past his prime Owens biggest problem was he couldnt outrun the double coverage he was still drawing.

Roy Williams on the other hand cant even draw double coverage.

He did when he was in Detroit.

And a single 1000 yard season when his team was getting blown out and throwing from behind validates that he did it successfully?

my point is he talks about Owens like he's still a top 5 wr. off the top of my head i'd say

#1 Larry Fitz
#2 Randy Moss
#3 Calvin Johnson
#4 Andre Johnson

#5 Anquan Boldin
And what does that have to do with Owens and his impact on the Cowboys offense ? And so what if it isn't top-5 if it is really true or not? Five is a subjective number. And what exactly is this top-5 measuring? You do know statistically that Owens had this type of year even when he was in the prime of his career. He is just two years removed from one of his best seasons ever. Isn't it a little rash to make a decision in respect to how much he declined? Players don't just drop so dramatically unless they get injured or their are other problems. None of these WRs have Jason Garrett as their OC.But like I said, you still haven't provided the evidence that all I do is talk about TO. Hell, whenever I talk about TO it is most often than not, coupled with me bashing Garrett.
