If you want to dismiss his attitude with his coaches, you can go ahead, but if you had a team full of that you would really suck.

It is a stinky attitude he has shown with Garrett, it is seen by every teamate, and Jerry is endorsing it with the continual praise.

That is not a good thing any way you slice it. If a rookie TE can act that way to his coach and still get praised by the owner, what are TO,Witten and Romo allowed to get away with.

The leaders on this offense need to set this attitude straight IMO

Yeah because, clearly you know the WHOLE story and not just the parts spoon-fed to you by HBO- which by the way, no one knows (except HBO) when something was filmed.

In these situations, you have to look at your options of what to believe. You see with Jerry, he knows his credibility is on the line. HBO? They'll be filming somewhere else next year and don't give a crap.

So you haters have to assume that Jerry is purposefully damaging the team leaving this cancer on it while HBO is acting as the eyes of the fans, showing us where Jerry is lying.

If Jerry says it's ok, I'm probably going with that over what some geek reality show editor thinks will get ratings.

Again, are you basing this strong opinion on what you have seen on hard knocks? How about we wait to hear a coach or team mate call him out, you know, someone that might actually know him before we bust out our tinfoil hats and start claiming to cut the kid.

BOB PARTON, BOISE, ID: Martellus Bennett comes across as though he just does not "get it" and seems to lack the fundamental passion and motivation to play the game at the NFL level. Do you think Martellus will ever fully engage, or is he actually doing okay and being unfairly portrayed on HARD KNOCKS?

Mickey: Bennett has his moments in practices. OK, cut him for having a couple of back-to-back plays in his first NFL preseason game of any sort. Come on, show some patience. Plus, let's remember, sometimes this Hard Knocks stuff is made for TV, meaning they are showing you the footage to support an ongoing story line, not the entire story. OK, the kid mugged for the camera after John Garrett preached a little more to him. He's 21. You remember when you were 21?

Rob: think it's way too early to place labels on a 21-year-old kid who has played one preseason game. Does he have a lot of work to do? Yes, or his coaches wouldn't be on him. Right now he needs to show he can be as versatile as Tony Curtis, the current second tight end. But again, be patient. And I promise there's no Aggie bias here (Class of '04 myself).

Josh: HBO Sports president Ross Greenberg told me for every hour of "Hard Knocks" that makes it to the air, 300-400 are left on the cutting room floor. Know that the NFL Films and HBO guys are looking to make good television, and if that means they don't tell the whole story every time, then so be it. Ask running back Keon Lattimore, who they made out to be hopeless in the first episode.

GUys, take off the tin foil hats for a few seconds. If Jerry is pleased with him (after all, Jerry is the only one that has a right to complain as he is the one signing the checks) then maybe we shouldn't be so quick to judge.

It's just plain rediculous that people want to judge him completely based on what they have "seen" on two episodes of Hard Knocks. If Jerry starts complaining about the kid, then get concerned. Until then, take a pill and relax.

Please tell me when Jerry wasn't happy about someone?

Or should I remind you that Terry Glenn was definitely going to help this team in 2008. That's what Jerry said about a week before he threw an injury waiver on the table for him.

Why would Jerry come out and bash him? That only makes Jerry look bad because he's the one who drafted the kid in the second round.

As for this kid saying he only cares about what Jerry and his fellow players think. What about the fans? What about the people who makes the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL what they are?

I say cut him. I never wanted us to draft him in the 1st place.

You act like this is the first time Bennett has come off badly.

Wake up bro. This isn't the first time he has been represented poorly, this is the first time we get to see it on video so it rings even truer for the people that have been reading and hearing about him since minicamps began.

Some people are just defending him so they can later say, 'told ya so, Bennett turned it around just like I said he would'.

Why would they do that in the public forum where we here about it?

If they do that, which I really hope is the case, I would hope it's behind closed doors.

Actually most of us are "defending" him because it is asinine to get worked up over things we have no first-hand knowledge.

You keep on being spoonfed though.

When did I say he had to go?

I never did. Why does everyone assume when some of us say we are not pleased that he is acting this way that we are all saying he has to go?

Stop with that BS already.

And you don't think he should care about the fans?

You got me. You are so much wiser to know better.

Martellus Bennett isn't lazy, he does respect his coaches 100%, he does know the playbook inside and out, he didn't really miss any practice time because of 'personal issues' and he will be in the Pro Bowl when February rolls around because he doesn't miss any blocks or drop any passes because he's not following coaches instructions.

The 'proof' we have all been getting to dispute that stuff up above is all fabricated and just falsehoods 'spoonfed' to us by the Dallas Media, the National media, National scouts and of course HBO.

I am so glad you enlightened me.

Spoonfed - that is just idiotic. If Magic Johnson is taking time out of his day to talk to me I am looking him in the eye and really paying attention, not looking at the ground and anywhere but at him.

If my position coach is telling me to tuck the ball or put on my helmet, I should be doing that right away.

I am always amazed at how people can see something right in front of their own 2 eyes and just dismiss it as if it really is not what they are seeing.

The kid may turn out to be great, I will give him the benefit of the doubt on that, but to say we are overeacting on his attitude side is downright hilarious.

The kid wreaks of being treated as elite by everyone his whole life. If he gets past that he may have a good future in the NFL!

I think you are wanting him to say what you want. He forgot to mention the fans so what does it matter? Judge him by the job he does not some dumb ars show that you and a few other are taking as gospil. As Mickey and them have said hours of tape is cut what you see is not always exactly what is going on but you guys are taking this hook line and sinker and coming here blasting this kid over some minor BS.

You want me to stop the BS then please do the same and judge the kid off his play good or bad but what I'm seeing right now has nothing to do with football it has to do with you own preception.

Dude, dont sweat the defenders. They only do it to do it. This guy probably doesn't even know half the story on Bennett anyway.

Yeah, the first time I heard about Martellus Bennett was on HBO's Hard Knocks.

Are you for real?

You know that I live Cowboys 24/7 so I know every story out there and have listened/read/viewed everything about this kid since he was drafted.

But I never felt like he needed a wake up call until I saw Hard Knocks?

Come on now.

I am kind of surprised at you Dooms. TO, coming to Dallas had big problems with his position coach and his coach. I think you, like me were not a big fan of TO coming because of his attitude. It was not about on field production with him, it was the off the field stuff.

But you give this rook a free pass on that same type of attitude thing?
