We keep giving him the benefit of doubt. But he is starting to bother me also with his situation. Even Steve Smith started practice today. TO needs to get on the field!!

Steve Smith hadn't practiced since the 29th of July (according to ESPN). That's 17 days, not to mention how many total practices. So, he missed even more time than T.O., but THAT doesn't garner national attention.

Whether or not Steve Smith knows the Carolina O is not suspect either. There is a difference.

Just because T.O. isn't on the field doesn't mean he's not studying the playbook.

Sure, it would nice to have him out there practicing the routes, but the guy has been in the league for 10 years and is probably the most talented receiver in the league- how much time does he really need? He's not a rookie who needs weeks of practice to get it under his belt.

In the immortal words of Allen Iverson, "what we talkin' bout here man? we talkin bout practice.." - It'd be nice to have T.O. out there, but if he's ready for week one that's all Bob Dole cares about.

Agreed, but the option is there, at age 32.

The body is a fickle thing. At some point, no matter how hard you strive, it can't do what it once could.

I'm not hopping on any TO is done here bandwagon, I'm just annoyed that this guy isn't out there. Just annoyed.

So am I. I wish he was. But when it threatens the Jacksonville game, then I go from annoyed to concerned.

But now isn't the time. And right now, the panic--it is deafening.

I dont buy the kid gloves theory at all. T.O. is a STAR player, and Star players are treated differently in this league. They are protected differently. Maybe it has been so long since we had one people dont remember that. We are not talking about Jamica Rector here trying to win a roster spot, and we are not talking about regular season games being missed.

Well, Bill just cussed a WR coming off a 1,000 yard season up and down the sideline yesterday for missing one practice, much less nearly 3 weeks.

Quoting Allen Iverson's philosophy of winning doesn't really soothe concerns.

This is two uproars in several days. Romomania was a brief respite.

Reading this thread is like watching a fox enter the henhouse.

Cackling and feathers everywhere.

Its a wonder why we even require any veteran player to even attend training camp ... they can all play within a matter of days of the first game. They don't even have to have any familiarity with the offense. They can just look at a playbook and learn it all through osmosis.

Roshi, I respect your opinion, always have but come on.

First I have not seen anything substancial to why he was yelling at Glenn, but I will take your word for it.

Second it is blisters. It is not anything that could linger and be a problem all year, it is just pain threshold. It is not an injury. Not close to the same thing, if that is what he was yelling about.

That's a reason why many players fake holdouts or even pretend to retire. They don't want to deal with the rigors of training camp and two-a-days. Think back to last year, Owens got out of it then too.

Bob Dole quoting/mimicking Allen Iverson is funny.

Well no one knows exactly what the conversation was about. If it was about missing practice there may be a little difference between blisters and a hammy.

T.O. Watch: Grueling work continues

12:47 AM CDT on Tuesday, August 15, 2006

By JEAN-JACQUES TAYLOR / The Dallas Morning News

Terrell Owens continues to do more grueling work, including running with resistance bands, with assistant trainer Britt Brown during practice. After practice, assistant coach Todd Haley threw Owens and rookie Sam Hurd passes for about 10 minutes before they continued to practice on their own for another 20 minutes

Since its such a common occurance, which other veteran Cowboys players are currently milking a mysterious 3 week injury?

Just FYI .....

DMN blog:

Possible trade brewing???

Suckers!

Well, while you're here, you might as well know that the Cowboys will do that "scout swap" thing any day now. Parcells will invite a few members from another club's scouting department to practice this week while Cowboys chief scout Jeff Ireland and the boys head off to another location.

I'm not certain of this, but I think you'll see the Patriots' scouts blow through here in the next couple of days. If you are going to let another team's scouts into your camp, it better be someone you trust and someone you don't play this year. The Patriots fit that description.

Now, the Patriots aren't exactly loaded at receiver, but they do have a disgruntled player by the name of Deion Branch. Just throwing it out there.
