Do we have an issue with RB2?

If they stay healthy I'm good to go with TP and Deuce. I'd like to see Leupke do enough to make the 53 as the #3/Short yardage/FB with Rico & Davis safely stowed away.

Davis is a total scrub.

deuce just took his job. Its over already.

pollard, deuce, dowdle will be the backs as long as dowdle stays healthy.

leupke to practice squad. I bet they try to put jones on 4 game IR.
Agree, except it might well be Hunter over Dowdle.

Hey we have a Roy sighting. He has said that we blew it in the draft by not drafting a back in an earlier round. Also his rant on Schoonmaker was epic. How about that Roy? We saw Schoonmaker play in the 1st game.

I'm concerned. Deuce has the talent and skill set to adequately fill in if necessary, but he's really, really small. If it comes to pass that durability won't be an issue, we're in great shape, the kid has all-star potential. If not, I don't like the prospects of Davis, Dowdle, or Jones playing significant snaps.

You know what’s great about RBs. You can just sample them. If you think Deuce might be ready, throw him out there. He’s not? Just take him out. It’s not the starting LT. You don’t need that much chemistry. Try these guys out. Make it so that Rico and Deuce don’t know who is the #2

Injuries is one thing but when you are 5’5 you could be more prone over the course of a nfl season. Sproles was hurt quite a bit over his career
and yet we just discussed that that's not something that's been a problem for deuce Vaughn so why don't we stop trying to make something a problem before it is and by the way just about every player that plays football gets dinged up hurt slightly injured but as long as they're not out for significant amount of time then you can't say they're injury prone or worry about injuries this is part of football Mike Parson just got kicked in practice and people all freaked out why this part of it stop reporting all the nonsense.

Again let's stop trying to make up stuff that hasn't happened yet stop looking for things to complain about before they even happen. If it becomes an issue it's an issue again running back would be a very easy position 2 add to the middle of the season late in the season if you become riddled with injuries there I think it's the easiest position to fill without worrying about a player needing to have any practice time or haven't been on the team etcetera.. That's the great thing about using running back by committee versus counting on one running back if that's the way your system set up most of the running backs can be plug and play if you lose them it won't be as big a damage as if he was your main guy.

by the way he's not injury prone how do you think this guy made it through high school and big time college yes big time college he played teams in the Big 12 like Texas Oklahoma TCU and also Alabama and he stood tall and he was very productive and he doesn't have a history of being injury prone you're trying to tell me that football somehow changed from last season in the Big 12 to right now in the NFL I mean you do realize that most of the NFL are made-up of college players and there are big giant defensive players in college especially on those teams I just mentioned. Maybe this guy takes care of his body and he's healthy and he knows how to try not to take those big hits Emmitt Smith did it he did a really admirable job about not wanting to lower his head and make contact instead you go out of bounds you find a way to slide through a tackle change your angle so you're not hit as hard and maybe he's mastered that because he's had to be small all his life playing amongst giants.. We're not giving this guy 20 carries a game so I'm not really sure why everyone's worried but he was doing that in college he was the guy in college but now he's probably gonna get half that..

I look at it like this Leupke needs to play alot more. Vaughn showed enough.
Davis and Dowdle need to play more aswell. Ronald Jones if he can play play but he gone.

I'd look for a trade or a release for a RB replacement.
I dont think Rico or Malik should be on this roster.
I need to see Leupke asap.
Malik is a ST emergency RB. That's a legit active role.

It would be better for Luepke to take the ST responsibilities and then add as a FB and emergency RB.
Similarly, Deuce is a Turpin+ if he can return punts. RB/WR/PR/KR. Deuce can bring a lot of snaps. Eventually.

*This year* we should add a veteran Zeke who is a lot cheaper and still has juice. Short yardage, hammering up the middle, pass protection.
Best case is if Luepke can grow into that. And play ST.
Conceivably both those guys can grow into those roles, but we shouldn't expect that out of late round picks, and certainly shouldn't count on it in their rookie seasons.

Again, *this year*, Rico has a role as an off the PS runner to replace the New Zeke if New Zeke or Pollard can't go.

Malik and Rico are both PS types as runners, and we should hope to move on from them as soon as possible. But this year, Malik and Rico have roles that I don't see Luepke and Deuce replacing. Next year, hopefully Luepke and Deuce grow into larger roles, but we shouldn't bank on that for two late round picks.
And we don't know if Pollard is even here next year. Could draft a new RB or two as our lead backs next year, and Luepke and Deuce still make sense in their potential roles.

Do we have an issue with RB2?

-Ronald Jones is hurt, has a heart condition, and is suspended for the first two games of the season.
-Rico seems to always be hurt every year (Just a matter of time), and fumbled in his first preseason game this year.
-Davis, who many thought could take the lead 2 role was underwhelming and played poorly.
-Deuce has been exciting to watch but I'm not sure he is ready for the 2 spot quite yet.

Does Dallas go grab a free agent RB, say Hunt? or do we roll with who we got?
Yes.

Short not small.
Small in stature. He's definitely well put together for a shorter guy, and I'm hoping his lower center of gravity will help him avoid heavy hits. I'm a huge fan of the guy. He tore my Sooners apart, and proved to be a legitimate threat all across the formation throughout his career. I hope he sees a big role in this offense. I'm really apprehensive knowing that he's a play away from being the lead back on a Super Bowl contender...at least at this point in his career. Hope I'm wrong.

They may have a short yardage issue.

But-
1 Maybe Davis can be above average or at least decent here.
2. Maybe the coaches can help scheme things up to help who we have be successful in this area.

A vet could always be cut on another team too.

We just need a guy who can do some dirty work and that shouldnt be hard to find.

That type of guy is most likely already on this team though.

At RB? Maybe Hunter. We don't have a dirty work/tough yards RB on the roster. I love Polly and Deuce both, but we need a bruiser to go w/ them.
