Grab Hubbard as insurance in the 4thyes but if he looks like he's continuing to deteriorate after the first 4-6 games cut bait.......I tend to think he'll come back next year hungrier like he was in 2016, and with a hopefully intact OL he gets some respect back, but all we can do is wait and see.....we dang sure cant go into next season with just Pollard and having to either draft or sign a decent backup for him! Now if a team is willing to trade for Zeke then its a different story perhaps......
This is wrong. His 2022 salary of 12 million fully guarantees if he's on the roster after the 5th league day of 2021. He needs to be cut or traded before that travesty occurs.this exactly. It’s a trick question really...if you asked it I want him on the team on a reasonable contract I’d say yes. If you say do you want him here on his current contract I’d say no.
Since the contract is already signed..moot point
I guess so, but I’m still not a fan of signing RB’s to big money contracts like we did. I’d rather invest it in a good offensive line.
There's a sucker born every minute? If we can find a trade partner for a 1st or a 2nd, wave bye, bye.
Well..There's been about 3 quality Zeke games this season and 10 more where he looked like a UDFA-level power back.
He will never get faster from here on out and it's hard to see how he will become motivated again after phoning this season in. Cut him, replace him with a street free agent, and save whatever money you can.
Jerry making stupid mistakes does get a good laugh out of people around the league. Resigning Dak will bury any chances of the Cowboys being a contender for the next several years. I am sure the fans of other NFCE teams will get a chuckle. You are delusional, just like your comments. Hope you're ready when Jerry gives Dak a longterm contract this upcoming offseason. We'll see who will be laughing then.
I would agree with you , but it was reported that Zeke showed up at his weight from his rookie season this year. That kinda ruins the foundation of your posts. I don’t think he has the same ability at any weight that he had during the first couple years of his career.Well..
If Zeke would get in shape and lose the extra weight he has put on..
We would see him as more the player from 2016.
He has put on too much weight and he has lost quickness and does not cutback like he first did.
He used to be able to get to the corner and turn up field. Not anymore.
He will be stopped before he even gets to the sideline and that causes the clock to run but will also cause us to call time outs to conserve the clock with those time outs.
So Zekes issued have several sides.
And threw no fault of his own..his OT has deteriorated by defection, injury and bad luck. It's one thing to lose one starter on the OL..
but to lose everybody on the OL from just 2 seasons ago is something I have never seen before.
So saying Zeke is at fault is not accurate.
Moore's play calling is bad at times and predictable which make Zeke's production drop.
And the fumbling this year has cost us at least 2-3 games.
So there is plenty of excuses to go around.
