Draft rumors (Cowboys)

Exactly. I can't speak for everyone, but I want Zeke because I think he's the best prospect of a bad bunch. Of those 5, I think Zeke has the best potential to be a superstar. That's the complete football player I want at 4. Don't care about his position. You go for the playmaker everytime.

The QBs are gone. We're not getting one. We need to build for right now because Romo doesn't have much longer left.

You and me are on the same wavelength bro!!!

Yeah, but this is not one of those Special RBs IMO. Is he good? Yes, he is good. Is he the best prospect in this Draft at RB? Yes, he probably is. Is he AD or LT or Emmitt? No, I don't think he is. He's very good, he's not worthy of 4 IMO.

I am not really sure than anyone is truly worth drafting at #4 overall. Zeke may well be the best pick at #4. I just hope whoever we pick is worth picking.

If we pick Zeke at #4 overall, then he needs to have skills in the rarified air range ..... like Adrian Peterson, or Ladainian Tomlinson.

Jimmy Johnson's philosophy was pretty clear. Playmaker's on either side of the ball win games. Either someone who can score or someone who can keep the other one from scoring. If there was a "True" stud defensive end or ballhawking CB available who could prevent the other team from scoring I'd be fine with that. I don't think those people are in the draft based on what I've read. Accordingly, if Zeke is that guy who can score 10-15 touchdowns, not fumble and help us control the clock and keep our weak defense off the field then I think he's the guy. Now if we could trade down a few spots and pick up a second round pick and still get Zeke, that's even better. Who knows. PS. Anything anyone says right now who is connected with the team is blowing more smoke the Cheech and Chong used to. It is purely a disinformation campaign (or at least it should be).

Dallas is not built for right now. They really do not have a defense.

If we have a QB then we are built for right now. About 9 teams in the league have one. The rest are making due with what they have and trying to get to the dance without one. We have one in Romo, so we are built to win now as long as we have him and he can still play at a high level.

No way is Denver taking one of these scrub QBs at 31. John Elway is smarter than that -- he knows full well that the value at the end of round 1 is on defense, not reaching for some hack QB. Any team who actually pulls the trigger on one of these bozos in round 1, when you have so much talent at other positions to choose from, should get their collective heads checked.

Sam Bradford to the Broncos makes a lot of sense for all parties involved.

Who starts ar defensive end during game one? Our d-line is in shambles. JJ said yesterday that Bosa's character issue will not be an issue on drafting him. Translation: Bosa will be the pick.

If Zeke turns out, then none of those options are anywhere near what we'd be getting from Zeke. McFadden is perennially injured and although he was healthy last year and put up decent yard,s there's no guarantee he will be healthy this year and he didn't put fear in opposing offenses like Murray did. We had one year where we actually broke out of mediocrity, and that was the year we had a dominating run game. I don't know why there is so much adversity towards possibly putting a dominant running talent behind that dominating line and going back to the only formula that has worked for us in the past half decade.

If we draft Zeke, I think it is probable that Morris gets cut before then end of training camp, if Dunbar is ready to go by the end of training camp. Morris isn't a receiving threat, and we will likely go long at another position.

Right, which is why you don't need a top 4 RB You just need a good RB. Why spend millions on an OL if you have to turn around and pay top dollar to a RB as well? That's a waste of money IMO.

Yeah your right, that 90's team with the great OL and Mr. Smith worked great with Curvin Richards and Derrick Lassic...lol.

Zeke will not be the Best player available at 4. That will either be Ramsey or Tunsil, just depending but you are right, we don't agree and that's OK.

That depends on your definition of BPA. Is it best at his craft or best for the team? If the latter, it is Zeke and it's not even close.

Right now Mayowa, Crawford, Irving, Russell, or someone we don't have on the roster. Better to be held hostage for 4 games than 4 years if we draft someone who can't play.

They should add that's it's not just Jones that likes Zeke, but Garrett and Linehan prefer him and that Rod is also fine with Zeke over Bosa. Still think if Ramsey is there, that's the pick.

You know that Marinelli prefers him? Are you his neighbor or something?

Difference being that both guys you mention were 4th round draft picks, not #4 overall.

But other than that? Sure....

Who is it that you think can't play? EE is as likely as being "unable to play" as Bosa is, they are at least equals athletically for there respective positions. Bosa is technically as good as it gets, Elliott is the same at the running back position.

Yeah, best for the long term and big picture?

Or best 'quick fix' who will need to do the least to be perceived as a difference maker?

Nice to see someone can see past today.

Dunbar is starting the year on the PUP.

ESPN Dallas' Todd Archer expects Lance Dunbar (ACL, MCL, patellar tendon) to open the 2016 season on reserve/PUP.
He should be removed from fantasy draft boards after shredding his knee last October, and Dunbar can't be counted on for a 2016 impact by the Cowboys. With Dunbar on the shelf, Dallas' running back room is currently comprised of Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris, Rod Smith, and Ben Malena. Although Ezekiel Elliott at No. 4 seems like a reach, we'd fully expect the Cowboys to draft a running back. Ideally, it would be on the draft's second day. Apr 25 - 1:46 PM

I don't think he has those type of skills but maybe he can produce at a similar level here in Dallas.

I think Zeke is a good all around back but he is more like Ray Rice who was a really good player.
