Why in the world would this story affect us? Neither the Cowboys nor Dez are a party to the lawsuit, and it doesn't affect us in the least. It's a private legal matter between two other companies.

Man bro, you gotta come in this thread and ruin it for everybody with something sensible. :banghead:

Yes.. Let's let him walk because of all this mid april drama he is causing. The same drama that would be a complete non story if it wasn't about the best player on the most polarizing team in the most popular of all american sports.

I hope that Roc Nation is not taking advantage of Dez and convincing him to do things that are not in his best interest but to think that people on this forum want to dump the teams most passionate, talented, and productive player due to twitter drama in mid april is insane to me.

The best strategy in the NFL seems to be to extend your core players and let veteran role players who wish to be overpaid walk. Dez is the definition of a core player.

The Cowboys should and I believe will get a long term deal with Dez done.

I never quite understand posts like this.

I look around the league and see other superstars on popular NFL teams not have this drama. I missed where Aaron Rodgers has issues like this. I missed where Tom Brady had issues like this. I missed where Calvin Johnson had issues like this.

So let's not act like this is just media created drama or that it's not a really big deal. Off the field problems sometimes have a way of taking their toll on a player on the field. I am not saying that will be the case here, but frankly, Dez needs to get his personal affairs in order. Hopefully this is a step in that direction once this all gets settled.

For the record I am a big Dez guy and want him resigned. But the stuff that goes on in this guy's life is not normal stuff for most NFL stars. I don't quite understand how people try to make all his off the field issues into things that are just normal, everyday happenings for other stars in this league.

I wonder if this doesn't get resolved by the beginning of the regular season, will Dez be allowed to throw up the X? Maybe it'll be a Y. As in 'Y' did I sign with RN?

I remember the dreaded R word being thrown around when people (myself included) said they were concerned over him signing with Nation, well so far it been all I'll will and lawsuits. At this point it actually seems smart they franchised him, because waiting a year to see how Roc handle his brand is a shrewd move. What's that, two lawsuits in a fortnight? Seems excessive.

Wow... it has been a while since I've seen anyone use a fortnight in a sentence.

I liketh!

First, Dez leaving David Wells is IMHO a good thing.
That was always unstable and one-sided.
Wells being paid by Dallas and Dez and likely providing the team with all the info Dez felt betrayed by.

This X guy seemed to be doing a good job of marketing Dez with this throw up the X stuff but Dez signed a larger deal that gave Roc Nation Sports that authority.
Now the two sides will seek a legal remedy... i.e. this dude wants a pay check to go away.

How Dez handles his football work is all the really matters and we will know about that come training camp... if he attends.

While this is drama no one cares to see, not sure the move is a bad one if it gets Dez away from handlers and back pocket guys.

Please explain how a private legal matter between two other companies -- to which neither Dez Bryant nor the Dallas Cowboys are a party -- has anything whatsoever to do with Dez's "personal affairs." Two private companies have a dispute over contracts. Why should we care?

Does Darrelle Revis need to get his affairs in order because the Patriots accused the Jets of tampering? (There, you have an example of a superstar player with an "issue" exactly like this).

Dez switches representation in marketing and agency, old players don't like it and feel that they were shafted, they sue.

This is business and Dez's business interests. To call it "Drama' is a stretch. This is about his marketing companies.

Dez should do what is best for Dez... Just laugh at all the comments that he should just play for the love of the game. Guys like Earl Campbell don't have fans carrying their luggage around, while they struggle with their pains from football.

Right now just want Dez to take care of his off the field business so there are no distractions once the season starts, how it works out for him or doesn't work out does not matter to me. What I do expect is for him to do his job once we hit the mandatory camps and training camp.

Mike Fisher reported that ThrowUpTheX is suing Roc Nation.

Over what I don't know.

He needs to drop Rock Nation and go back with his old agent. Focus on football other wise Cowboys need to trade him this year for a early round pic and get the guy from Alabama... let someone else deal with that drama.

Chock full of common sense thinking.

Because these types of issues have distracted players in the past. If Roc Nation is turning him against people that he has had a good relationship with in the past, that's not a good sign.

Alcoholics that quit drinking are on the (alcohol) wagon.

Dez has been on the (stupid) wagon for awhile now. He could fall off the wagon at anything and revert back to his natural tendency which is to be stupid.

Please tell me when a private legal dispute between two other companies has distracted a player in the past.

If Roc Nation is turning him against people that he has had a good relationship with in the past, that's not a good sign.

A marketing company "turned him against" a rival marketing company -- that's business. It's not like a gang leader is turning him against his family and pastor.

Alcoholics that quit drinking are on the (alcohol) wagon. Dez has been on the (stupid) wagon for awhile now. He could fall off the wagon at anything and revert back to his natural tendency which is to be stupid.

I'm confused. How is changing marketing firms in any way comparable to alcoholism, and what did Dez do here that was in any way stupid? Nobody is even alleging that he did anything wrong -- the dispute is between one marketing company and another marketing company.
