He looks for contact all the time, he's never trying to avoid it. I can't wait to see what another back can do with the carries, #23 or #34 you'll see a difference in the running styles, then you'll be able to see why we pass so much!!!
He avoided it pretty well on his TD run. He avoided a lot of contact by spinning out of tackles to gain extra yardage too. He played a damn good game Sunday.

He's 6'0, 212. And runs hard with power. This is a narrative that just isn't true. Tell me he can't block, and I'll agree. He's not too small. But RB by committee works better anyway, and RB is the easiest position to bring in a younger, cheaper version. Very few top teams pay their RB, and if they do it usually doesn't last long.
2 games this year under 2 YPC, hes not starter, he doesn't get the same type of dirty yards when defense actually is Stacking to stop the run. zeke gets far more attention than pollard.. IDSC what you think you see both are equally as important in this offense , one wouldn't be successful with tout the other. they are working off each other. No way could pollard be the #1 work horse and still have his 1-2 game burst and bigger runs. that obvious to most, don't care about his size, i see who he is during games.

Yeah I Was gonna say he looked explosive yesterday. I think we may be trying to rush his demise because he doesn't run off for 40 yards like Pollard. He's punishing defenses though.
Punishing yes but keeps them honest, defenses still key on zeke and that helps set up the offense especially with PA passes to be more successful. you see them sell out a lot to come up and make sure zekes not breaking loose

by the way the OP is umm well i cant say it but this thread is stupid. last 2 season zekes played well and ben productive given his injuries and lack of carries.

Pollards not better then zeke but has some better attributes that can help our team same with Rush not better then dak but hey, we get these nonsensical threads all the time.

Without Elliot pounding the rock. Hollyn would not have the yards he’s getting. It’s definitely a team back there. We need Elliot. And I’m not a great fan of his. But I understand the necessity of having him

Its not him we need, but a back similar to him. Nothing special about Zeke that 30 other backs couldnt do.

He is 210. Not too small
He's listed at 210.
That does not mean he is 210.
Especially not in season.

The very best case for Pollard is CMC who is "listed" at 205.
And we see the toll being a starting RB has had on CMC.

Tony Pollard cannot be a starter largely because he can't block.
He can't be a bellcow because what brings to the table is explosion which is robbed when asked to perform under endurance.

TP is the prototype change of pace back. He will have games where he gives you zero then games where he busts the best run of the game.

Defenses are not keying in on Zeke anymore. He literally just said in an interview the Eagles were not stacking the box.

He is not a big play threat anymore so teams are gonna let him get his 3 yards and cloud of dust and make the pass game beat them.

I watch the games and they in FACT ARE..ok hater. Move on i see Zeke playing well, over 5YPC first half of last year before the injury and most games this year he stated that way,..heck 6YPC that what power backs do paus block and can play all game vs the change of pace backs which are all hit or all miss. Zeke consistent
so pollard's had 2 games under 2YPC, so what does that make him?? lets stop the nonsense.

Me too, and he literally just said they aren’t in a recent press conference.

I love Zeke, I’m not a hater at all. I just don’t think he’s anywhere near the player he used to be and the numbers back it up.

Don't blame zeke for it though. He certain CAN carry 20+ times. But he's not getting your expected top-20 yardage until after 12-15.

It's the way a power running back works. Even Emmitt Smith...what would HE do with 12-15 carries? And 60 yards.

Blame Moore. The haters can still fire Zeke...but it ain;t his fault.

So he had one of the best rookie seasons ever, let alone any RB....the o-line a shambles. Injuries. an OC who wants a NCAA Mountain West / Boise State passing game. 12 carries a game....

But it's zeke's fault? Of course he's "nowhere near what he "used to be"". Give him the carries he USED to have....see what happens.

Never said it was Zekes fault, just said he isn’t the dude he used to be. Our OL has been great this year and has exceeded my expectations. Part of that is due to the fact we finally decided to split more carrie’s with Pollard who gives a true big play threat.

Zeke just can’t do that anymore. It’s not my opinion…it’s a statistical fact.

You may be right.. but because his utilization has been so ridiculously low these last few (Moore) years we can't really know for sure. The Cowboys were smart to get a change of pace back as talented as Pollard to give them the big play threat ... But people need to stop it with the "Pollard needs to start" and "Pollard is better" nonsense. Pollard has 55 carries for 292 yards this season.. which is great.. But he got 101 of those yards on 2 carries. Which leaves 53 carries for 191 yards. Like 3.6 ypc.. Which if Zeke was getting he'd be getting killed for.. Pollard is great in his role.. but he needs to stay in his role. His one big run every 25 carries doesn't offset a lot of punting in between if he were the lead back. That's not hating on Pollard, that's just football. I won't even mention his whiffs in pass protection are becoming hazardous to our QBs' health.

Maybe Zeke can't take it to the house like he used to.. after all Father Time is undefeated.. But he can pound out 3-5 yards a pop while almost never losing any.. and occasionally breaking loose for a 15-20 yarder. I've said many times the Cowboys are never going to get anywhere near their money's worth if they insist on running Zeke 12-13 times a game.. It no longer bothers me.. as long as we win.. but when he's grinding out 5 yards a pop and we lose while giving him the ball so little? It makes my blood boil..

neiter is dak, the OL, or Tyrone smith or most anyone else in year 7,, Lmao. state the obvious much???

i pointed it out hes in fact still productive take his $$ out of it doesnt matter, he would have had several 100 yard games if he were amicably splitting carries with Pollard or given his normal 25-30 carries. its a great 1-2 punch but his stats went down not after his New deal, thats a coincidence..Smith22 got most of his yards via 4.3YPC thats fact Emmitt would never have ammswed his yardage if they did what they didn to zeke and cut his carries in half and made emmitt split time in a pass happy Offense. IMHPO and from my persepcive if Zeke and the offsne staye don course from his fiorst 3 years he might have ciuaght up to at least tonys numbers or soehere sloser. Him beig top 3 all time as cowboy shou dget respect , ef his money that not what any fan should see when they ar seeign one of te bst backs to wear a star:starspin:

2019 zeke gets paid before that seaosn , then add a NEW Pass Happy GREEN OC in Moore changes the offesne aftre Jerry pays Zeke because what he did his first 3 years...

add in the OL has never been close to 16 losing Fredrick, LG spots been revolving door of Jags, new RT what 3 times now, Tyrone played on averge maybe 10 games a season sicne then, new Center whos aveage at best, and Now a New rookie LT...

so lest take moment to see zekes stil very good version of his old self ecven if its not 16 hes not cnaged much the rest fot heteam has.,,.not his fault..YES his pay now doesnt macth his new role..most loiekly gone nbevxt year but i still see alot of old zeke there if the OL and OC doidnt chnage this offnase so much zeke wouild still be getig his 1350 yards and 10 tds and 250 pus recieving yards. he got 1k on one leg the last 8 games , been team player and tired of hearing how hes changed when its more like team changed ariound him..

also lastly add in when we coudnt play defnse and needed to sdcore close to 32 PPG to even have shot at weinniog it took a norm,al consiotent run game off the tbale.lots has changed..

Yea I love Pollard but not sure he could take the beating of running it 20+ times a game and he’s not a good pass pro guy.

Could be right about Zeke, but the fact the coaches have been continuously reducing his workload and the fact he hasn’t hit any big runs for such a long period of time is telling.

Again, love the player and what he’s done for this team but IMO it’s time to move on and get out of the contract for the betterment of the team.

Dak was literally like top 7/10 in every QB stat out there last year.

Sure, Zeke could still have 100+ yard games if you gave him 30 carries but you’re almost making my point for me in the fact that it would take that many carries to get him there.

AS DID WITH EMMITT, miss the point much? HOF smith22 needed volumes to get there most of his YPC yearly averaged were below 4.5 , many 4.2 and handful at 4 or under,,.FACTS,...Zeke is still that type of back, our offense is not our Era is not..

ES22 yr7, 3.7 YPC and many hovered around 4 after that..look at his volume, ES22 and Zeke are very similar backs,. difference is 21 doesn't have the HOF TEAM and coaches surrounding him.
