Man, you guys are touchy today. As I mentioned earlier I posted the thread sarcastically..

I mean come-on with an article title of "Jerry Jones: Add four more teams to the playoffs" this thread DESERVED to exist.... ;)

Not talking about you. The typical people who serve no purpose then to troll threads with Jerry(insert anything you think is clever here) posts.

He seriously has lost it. He cant beat good teams, so he wants worse teams to be able to make it.

But on the other hand i think its awful that 10-6 teams like Cardinals this year (even 8-2 outside division) cant qualify to playoffs.

Or, Mr. Jones... you could assemble a team and staff that can make the playoffs under the current format, but of course that would mean you'd have to admit to past mistakes and allow someone else to try to fix them.

I think its more about revenue. More money to go around and less teams like GB can take from the Cowboys thru the NFL sharing is caring program lol. People talk about Jerry because he promotes the team and the NFL. But because he does this Dallas is one of the highest grossing teams in the nfl. The man paid 667 mil of his own money to build a new stadium. I dare anybody to name one owner who has done that. One owner in sports. They strap their city or county to footing the bill. Im not apologizing for Jerrys mistakes and bad judgments over the years. But i dont know of any owner who sells his soul for his team. As much as the choices this team makes make me scratch my head. As much as the players and coaches infuriate me sometimes. I cant ever hold anything against him. He loves the Cowboys probably a million times more then any of us ever could. He turned a franchise that lost money every yr into the highest grossing team in sports.

Has that won him a superbowl? Yes 3 of them. Alot of people try and say it was Jimmy Johnson. Well how about using the same philosophy all of you use now that the Cowboys are coming up short. It all stops with Jerry he hires and fires people. He's final word. He hired Jimmy. When everybody laughed at him for hiring him. People thought he was a joke when he fired Landry and brought in Jimmy. People say when Jimmy left it fell apart. It fell apart because right about the time when Jimmy left the Salary Cap was born. How did Jimmy do with a owner who didnt have Jerrys money? The dolphins are still waiting for their deposit back from jimmy.

Jerry is too loyal to anybody thats a part of family(Dallas Cowboys). Thats how he treats his team like a family. Maybe thats why alot of you gripe and cry about him paying people, keeping coaches. Maybe you people have no sense of loyalty to the people you surround yourselves with. Maybe you would burn your mother for 5 bucks that will get you what you want. thats the proble, with todays society. Everybody is about what they want, and screw everybody else. But Jerry isnt like that. He takes care of his own. Thats what makes this team special. win or lose. You will never hear a player or coach say that Jerry screwed them over. Even Terrell Owens has never put blame on Jerry.

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
yup

This is what seperates good loyal fan bases from the Cowboys. Then you watch Cowboy games on tv and you can understand why these great fan bases like GB, Pit basically overtake cowboys stadium. Eventhough theres 5times the Cowboy fans there.

This is a great point

What is sad is that even if you have 4 wildcard teams per conference.......................we still dont make the playoffs under Garrett....................that is the level of suckage that Garrett has brought to this once great organization.

But I forgot that Garrett is still in training in like year 4, so we cant be too hard on the guy......................he cant help it that he is not a real head coach.......but one of these days he is going to get that coaching diploma and start winning!!!!

This exact topic was discussed the other day nfl radio and pat kirwin stated the idea to increase teams in the playoffs has been proposed every year and i believe he said by kc owner. Small market teams looking at ways to increase revenue. I don't think this is a Jerry idea but he might have gotten behind it. I don't like it at all personally. Maybe someone else heard the discussion on the radio last week and can back me up.

What message is he trying to send. "We can't be good enough to qualify for the playoffs so let's change the rules to accommodate us. I'm not a good enough GM to get us over the hump."

We'd still miss out. Cardinals were 10-6 and the 8-8 Bears beat us in the head-to-head. Nice try, Jerry.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw the title of this thread. It's the only way your sorry GM skills will get us into the post season old man!

"It's entertainment" (following blowing a 23-point halftime lead)
"Embarrassed? Look at this place" (after losing to the Eagles and getting bounced 3 years in a row in week #17 by the 3 division rivals)
"Let's add four more!" (the only way he can get in)

What a maroon....I am reduced to hiding at my desk instead of hanging by the proverbial water-cooler...I have no football friends at work any more as I am too ashamed of the owner of my beloved Cowboys

again I say, what a maroon

Why would he address this topic a few days after a huge loss???? And, why in the media?

This man is an Owner of a NFL franchise.......

Quickly, name 5 other owners........you have to think about it dont you?

It's the clown show in Dallas...........and, sadly, it shows up on the field........

17 years........of this.

He needs to just be quiet. I really hope his sons see whats happening..... And when they get their chance , bring in a GM.
