I think if you were to ask kids under the age of 18, about 90 percent would have no idea about the Cowboys and "America's team"

9-7 would have Skins fans celebrating in the street. This season will mark the 14th time in 17 years that Washington has failed to win 9 games. Dallas has only failed to win 9 games 18 times in their entire 50 year existence, and that includes our expansion year and the the strike years.

Washington only dreams of being a perennial 9-7 team. Your franchise is just over .500 in your nistory. Another 17 years like the past 17 and Washington will be one of the few franchises to sport an all-time losing record.

I just don't care about that stuff. I think American's love winners. They are all over the teams that are the tops at the team.

I don't know about Dallas fans. But I am sick of an owner who just thinks he's this football guy. I mean.....hasn't it been long enough since Jimmy left to see Jerry isn't a good front office guy? His track record since a few years after Jimmy has been awful.

I think Snyder just has Jones-Envy because Jerry thinks he was the driving force behind your latest NFL titles.....and Snyder believes it.

Its a mess.

We need a GM with full control badly.

Snyder needs to be more like the Rooney's and Kraft. Less like Jerry and Al Davis.

There are thread son it every single year on every Washington message board. Dallas is called America's Team everytime we get a hightlight on ESPN it seems.

Alright, more history lessons from my childhood

If you want the banner for "most 9-7 seasons with a first round playoff exit" this decade, be my guest (oops, forgot you guys missed the playoffs last season. And both of us were dismissed in our first playoff game after the '07 seasons)

Again, for a team that has done diddly poo this decade (being the Cowboys) treating any team as "irrelevant" in particular a division team is pretty silly

But hey, keep up with the 9-7 seasons

If you put "America's Team" into google search, 3 of the top 4 results are the wikipedia page citing the Cowboys as America's team, an ESPN article about America's team, and the Dallas Cowboys official site.

And like I said, it gets said weekly if not daily on ESPN. When people hear "America's Team", they intantly think of the blue star

The Skins are awful...and hopefully only get bad enough to force out Vinny Cerrato from the organization.

If you want to think America's team means no playoff wins since Clinton's 1st term. Then God Bless.

I root for the home team, and if their long term health means this year needs to get a lot worse. So be it.

Like I said, 9-7 would have Skins fans jumping around like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. Meanwhile, Dallas fans were pretty damn pissed about our 13-3 season because we finished so poorly, and downright disgusted with our recent 9-7 seasons.

The two franchises are held to different standards. You know it, I know, and every NFL fans knows it.

He did though beat the 8-5 Cowboys in 2005 (in a game which essentially was for that last playoff spot)
