The only way this statement makes sense is if all top 5 QBs don't have good teams around them.

I'm not claiming Dak got any better. He's peaked. But the QB play in this league this season is not blowing me away. Big Ben, Brees, and Peyton are gone. Brady and Rodgers are not long for this league. Who do we have out there now? Besides Mahomes and Allen. The difference between Dak on a good day, and 90% of the other QBs out there isn't that big of a gap.

Big Ben’s first Super Bowl was arguably the worst QB performance if all time…but doesn’t matter because he “elevated his team to a win.”

Outside of Mahomes and Allen it’s basically pick your flavor in the 2nd tier. Daks in there.

You are missing the point. No one is saying that Dak is a playoff stud. They are just saying that their is only one other NFC QB that will be in the playoffs that they trust more in the playoffs. Tom Brady is the only QB currently slated to be in the playoffs that has done anything. Thus you could make the argument that Dak could be the 2nd most trusted QB in the playoffs in the NFC. Who are you putting ahead of him besides Brady? Taylor Heinicke and Daniel Jones have never played in a playoff game. Jalen Hurts played in one last year and got totally destroyed. It was 31-0 at halftime. Kirk Cousins? Guy just got destroyed by Dak and company. He basically curled up in a fetal position in both the Eagles and Cowboys game this year because he was getting beat up so bad. Jimmy G? - I guess you could make an argument for him because he doesn't have to do much because of the 49ers defense. Although his stupid interception last year in thre playoffs allowed the Cowboys to get back in the playoff game against the 49ers. Dak will be taking up 20% of the cap in 2023 and 2024 - there will be no restructure that brings that down to an appropriate level. Then guess what? He'll be ready for his next extension.

Reminder: No QB has ever won a Super Bowl taking up more than 13.1% of the cap (the most being Steve Young)

Mahomes, Allen, Tua, Burrow, Herbert, and Hurts right off the top of my head are playing better than Dak right now.

the big cap jump was delayed because of the loss of revenue due to Covid crap. So it probably will not take a big jump until 2025

The 1991 Cowboys were 6-5 and Troy Aikman hurt his knee. Steve Beurlein came in and won five in a row plus a playoff game.

So using your logic back then Aikman was not a difference maker since the team won a bunch of games without him.

The Cowboys played perfect complementary football while Dak was out except for the Eagles game. Since Dak came back they have averaged 33.8 points and over 416 yards per game. If Dak isn't the difference than what is the difference? Kellen Moore suddenly becoming a genius?

Aikman was very much elevated by the players around him. This can't be denied. He was junk the moment he lost some all-pro players.

For example, before this season started I compared Hurts with Cam (not in stature but style) and predicted that he would be right in the MVP conversation. I was laughed at by Dak Prescott lovers yet...yep I was absolutely spot on. I'm not a fan of anyone giving themselves a pat on the back but when I'm dug out as someone with a "lack of intelligence" I have to defend myself - this coming from a poster claiming that Dak Prescott is a top 5 QB in the NFL. If you meant Dak Prescott has been in a favourable top 5 offense for the entirety of his career in terms of o-line, receivers and running backs then yes I would agree with that. He has been exceptionally fortune in that regard.

If you claim that Prescott is a top 5 QB in the NFL then well I will leave it to others to make up their own mind given the same team he is on are 4-1 this season with a practice squad QB who no other team wanted to claim. The only loss coming against a team with a 10-1 record.

Rodgers now makes 60M a year. Not 40M like Dak.
Pat makes 45M but has half a BILLION GTD.
Brady was mooching off his rich wife so playing cheap and is an extreme outlier.

but Russ, Kyler and very soon others will surpass Dak is salary that are also NOT Hall of Famers.

As to the team stuff, thats' largely nonsense. Rodgers isn't winning games THIS YEAR. No QB just carries teams of dolts across the threshold. We all saw Aikman, The Hall of Famer, fall off here as the talent around him did.
And THIS team is 10 points a game better on offense with Dak than the backup.
