Finished 2nd in 1992 in completions

Finished 3rd in 1992 in passing touchdowns
Beat me to it.

So many of you are going to be looking stupid in this thread because Norv is a good coach.

Norv is going to do great in San Diego.

what qb had better numbers overall? some had better numbers in certain categories but i dont think anybody had better overall.

i think its debatable who was the best but the 2 first options would be brees and phillips.

Brees, P.Manning, Marc Bulger (don't laugh he quietly had a very nice season) and Carson Palmer.

yeah i agree bulger did have a good season but to say that any of them clearly had a better season then phillips is untrue. thats why i said arguably. cases can be made for all of them. but to leave phillips out is just dumb

For Phillip Rivers first 16 games I thought he was impressive just as I thought for Romos first 10 games he was impressive.

I thought we had to rely on Romo more to go win us games though than they had to rely on Rivers.

this has nothing to do with "hate" per se. we've seen extreme arguments around here that are definatey "hate based". (see any VA commentary to Jones and you have latest defination of "hate") this is more like watching someone play "my favorite hallucenagetic" before rating qb's performances last year overall.

That happens when the best RB in the NFL scores more rushing TDs than any QB threw for.

yup thats where the difference in talent comes into play for the chargers. and why dallas wont have the same success because of wade. the chargers just have better talent in every posistion except wr, and one of the lb'er posistions. and one of the cb spots. newman is better then anything the chargers have but henry?

I did not leave Rivers out. You said to name other names that were better. IMO they were better.

This after I asked you if he finished in the lead of any category.

Geez...I am not saying the guy is a putz or bum here. I never said he did not have a great year.

Maybe you need a nap because you are swinging at things that are not there.

The spin already begins.

I was coming back from grabbing something for lunch and ESPN radio said...

"The San Diego Chargers accomplished what the Dallas Cowboys failed to do and named Norv Turner their new Head Coach."
Man, that's nuts.

when i used the word dumb i wasnt saying it to u directly. i just said for anybody to leave him out of a debate on the best quarterback last yr would be dumb. and IMo none of them qb's really had any better season then he did. sure peyton won the superbowl. but the colts really werent anything special until their defense stepped up and they leaned more on their running game. peyton was his ole peyton self. choking, his team carried him. espicially that defense and addai.

Of course they're going to succeed, but it won't necessarily have anything to do with Norv. They have perhaps the most talented team in the NFL.

Norv to SD is good. He didn't come here, yet the 49ers still lose him as their OC.

Henry is better than Jammer but that kid Cromartie that they drafted out of Florida State is going to be a baller in my opinion.

That kid is big and is just a freak athlete.

Exactly.

At least it makes a team in the NFC a bit weaker.

I wonder if Norv takes a couple of his assistants as well?

Better them than us. The Chargers dumped the choker for the loser. Great coaching move.

Norv is going to make Rivers a better Quarterback plain and simple and if your like me I believe football is all about the Quarterback position for the most part.

If you get good Quarterback play you can make up for a lot of bad things that go on around you.

Rivers is already pretty good but I think Norv is going to take him to the next level.

The Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer type level.

Plus Norvs play action game with LT as his Running back? Its going to be fun to watch that team play.
