No offense but if Moss goes down The Pats are still good...:
...and if TO goes down the Cowboys arn't? I mean, I guess Romo, Witten, Crayton, Barber, and Felix all suck.

The Patriots have won Superbowls without Moss, we haven't won a playoff game WITH T.O.

Not even that I disagree, but that's not a very good comparison.

How? People compare Moss and TO all the time. Hell, the Media says Moss is better than TO. How is it not a good comparison?

Well it was that little thing of the offense knowing what defense was called.

I don't why bad girls lyrics popped in my head when I read Freakout. It must have been a mix I heard back in the day. Now I can't shake, "Toot toot hey beep beep" Gawd I hate disco.

lmao @ this thread... you really think anyone we would have drafted in the 2nd round could have started over hurd, crayton or austin? lol no. hardy would have been a 4th or 5th wideout for us this year, plain and simple. get it through you thick skull.... a rookie wide receiver would not have helped us this year unless it was the second coming of jerry rice!!

actually i'll think "how many "i hate bennett"" threads will be started because someone saw him on tv and had to vent cause we didn't pick their position or player.

Im not saying bennet isnt good or will be im saying that WE NEEDED A WR clear cut,How can you guys not see this?Thats a generalization that rookie wr dont have impacts.

not anymore than a generalization that whoever we pick is better than who we have, is it? i'm GLAD we're not reaching.

also, what is so different about our WRs this year over last? it wasn't dire last year but only because glenn was on the sidelines but still suited up. he had 0 impact no the year last year.

let me rephrase that. 0.

so while it is a position of need it wouldn't be dire unless crayton was our #1 and witten wasn't on the team.

we have a lot of weapons. people just look for the softest spot and pretend it must be fixed immediately. if you feel better by getting upset and saying it's "dire" fine. but many non-overreactionary-fans are going to disagree.

some more vocally than others.

it would be nice to have another vet in here, but we don't. we simply can't always bring in a vet of the month to make the IGS happy. sooner or later our young guys gotta step up or step out. we can't keep them at 4, 5 and 6 forever and just gush over potential then cry when we need to find out *if* that potential is there.

I agree. However I would not be shocked if some where along the lines a vet is released as teams are forced to reduce their roster and Dallas picks up a more seasoned WR.

i wouldn't be shocked either. i just don't see it as a dire need.

TO
Crayton
Austin
Hurd
Stanback

we gonna keep 6? they'd better be good elsewhere. period. end of story. who do we cut for vet of the month we may bring in?

i'd think if we brought in a vet we'd go for 6 on the roster.

there goes the amendola dream.

I agree at this stage it is not dire as for Amendola I think that dream is coming to an end. I think the best he can hope for is a spot on the practice squad. He may very well develop into a good slot WR one day but he is not there as of yet. I like him and have been pulling for him but thus far I'm not seeing anything that would justify a roster spot over the WR you have listed.

we have a "Rudy" every year. reality kills that quite often. nothing against the kid but he's got a lot of years to prove he can or can't play. a few good catches in camp is fun to talk about but what price you going to pay to keep gambling? will someone else take him?

maybe. but i'm pretty sure austin or hurd would get picked up quicker. stanback isn't going anywhere.

bring in a vet we've simply got no more room at the inn for rudy.

Well when you have one of the ultimate Rudy stories in Tony Romo it is easy to get caught up in the talk. I think Amendola is a good hard working kid and who knows given time he may develop but he clearly has not shown enough to make the roster on this team.

What I see is a young very athletic TE who is an excellent blocker and I think will be with us for a good while.
spot on.

apart from that missed pass block in the first game. he's made all his blocks. he should help the running game alot especially when the TE stands next to colombo
