Evidence Links Vick to Dog Fighting

If somebody is too stupid to understand the fundamental immorality of dog fighting, you're never going to be able to explain it to him.

There are a few message board posters who ought to recognize themselves in that quote, but sadly, it's almost certain that they're too frickin' stupid to understand he's talking about them...

People I thought this is America, not guilty til proven guilty, but Vick is already guilty and must prove he is innocent.....

He bought his family a house, he probably knew they were knuckleheads but thought if they had a house it would keep them out of trouble or have a place to stay, never know.....I don't dispute the dog fighting was done, but let that be Ware's family and everyone on here would be saying awwwwwwww Ware didn't know how could his family do him like that.............

Vick owns a company that breeds and sells both pit bulls and Presa Canarios, that's a documented fact... now you find an operation ON HIS PROPERTY, with dozens of pit bulls, a number of them scarred from dog fighting...

Yeah, he had NO idea they were doing that on his property, honest...

You still believe in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny, don't you?? I hate to tell you this, but if you're serious about this, Santa won't be leaving you anything but a lump of coal in your stocking next Christmas...

Even if there is overwhelming undeniable proof of his guilt. I doubt he sees any serious time if he sees any time at all.

Sad but true... at the same time, you can count on Goodell serving up a suspension, and of course Vick's gonna see his endorsement opportunities dry up...

He's already taken a financial hit for this, I understand he sold that property for less than half what he paid for it...

Its old news. There is no question that dogfighting took place there. There is nothing in all of this article that shows that Vick participated or knowingly facilitated it.

If youve ever owned a rental property especially one out of town then him plausibly not being aware should make a bit of sense.

However Im sure the aging, draconian vigilante squad will be all over this one passing judgement once again.

I rent property in Amarillo I've not seen since 1991. I hope no one holds me responsible for a renter's behavior just to put this in perspective.

I've seen absolutely no suggestion that Vick was RENTING the place... got some evidence that's the case, do you??

However at best it is hearsay.

The rental property analogy was important because it gives plausible deniability. It is not to say that Vick rented the place but rather just like a rental property owner could possibly not know what goes on in the house that he owns but doesnt live in: Michael Vick could not know what goes on in a house he owns but does not live at.

You are willing to insert that evidence while I am not. Innocent until proven guilty is an excellent ethic to live by IMO especially when its a situation where I have no personal knowledge.

Its not about drug use as you allude to but rather in an unwillingness to judge.

What really bothers me is that you guys are more than happy to pass judgement when there is little to no evidence and no personal knowledge. Vick is a criminal, TO is a cancer, Meriweather is a gun toting freak. Talking about how players like that shouldnt be in the league much less on our Dallas Cowboys.

If that is truly the case then why is it none of you are clamoring for the removal of Abran Elam. There was evidence there to convict him of rape in a court of law.

I just down know brah. Ive seen most of the evidence and other than the retracted testimony there is nothing that puts him in the house at any time when dofighting was occuring. He says he wasnt involved and with just that I take it at face value. I really dont care about dogfighting. I personally put it in the same category as bow hunting and the fur trade.

But in October of 2003, Abram Elam was convicted on a charge of sexual battery in South Bend, Indiana. He have a convicted sex offender as a Dallas Cowboy. That i do care about.

I never said that all people over 40 have this nor that all under that age do not. Sorry but with the TO, Meriweather, and Jones issue there is to be a strong contigent of some of our more seasoned bretheren that are more vindictive than others. Come to look at Vick and its the same group doing the exact same thing.

If you are indeed taking the wait and seee approach than i apologize for thinking you had that view I just assumed that with your vitriol towards me that you indeed had already determined guilt.

I'm not sympathizing David. I do think people have rights and one is to be held innocent until proven guilty. This guys been judged and people are just debating the sentence.

I think he knew something was going on if not directly involved. But since I really know jack crap then I'll give him some slack. Family means nothing. Maybe you're at your mothers everyday. Vick may not talk with the guy, go there and might know nothing about any dog fighting. Might. That's all most people here are saying. No one here has condoned dog fighting.

You seem awful quick to judge people David. Just an observation which may be wrong. And you aren't alone. I don't blame you or anyone else for being inflamed over it.

SB, Blank is absolutely in love with Vick...he will NEVER come down hard on him...there's a reason Matt Schaub was traded off before the new coach ever saw him perform in a single practice...and this came after hiring the high rpofile Petrino and proclaiming "the coach will decide who plays QB"
