Now we go to the next big question, is this Felix Jones? Do we have another Cadillac Williams on our hands?

Let's face it, I remember hearing some of the doubters talk about this guy being able to take a pounding at the NFL level. He's not even a starting RB, and only got about five touches a game, and already has two major leg injuries.

As explosive as he was, I can't help but wonder if this guy is ever going to be a major contributor on this team.

It is now time to officially get Choice involved in this offense.

If Garrett has refused to get him involved for the last 5-6 games, why do we think he'll do so now?

I've been harping on this forever, we need a better RB rotation. It's gone out the door since Sparano left. Garrett is going to run Barber into the ground.

You gotta look at it this way...we had the #2 or #3 offense last yr w/o felix and w/o a REAL #2 RECIEVER and even though it pisses me off that we will lose felix for the year , now we DO have RW11 and i see no reason why we cant be just as explosive, jmo

Brutal. He could have really helped on both offense and special teams.

Well, time to give Mike Jenkins a shot on kickoff returns. He was pretty good at it in college and certainly has a knack for avoiding contact.

Certainly stinks for this year.

But I'm not pushing the panic button regarding durability at this point.

Wonder what Tyson Thompson is up to these days? That'd be some speed.

Unfortunately that is football. I just hate it happened during his rehab. What was the deal, were they dropping dumbbells on his feet?

This would've been better

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

Rookie RB Felix Jones has been placed on the injured reserve and will have surgery to repair a torn ligament underneath his left big toe.

A date has yet to be set for the operation, which will be performed by Dr. Robert Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist in Charlotte, N.C.

Jones, the No. 22 overall pick in the draft, provided a big-play complement to Marion Barber and showed flashes of brilliance in his six games. He had 266 yards on 30 carries (8.9 yards per carry) and scored four touchdowns, including a kickoff return.

Jones suffered a partially torn hamstring on a 14-yard run in the loss to the Cardinals and hasn't played since. He suffered the toe injury while rehabbing his hamstring.

The Cowboys' medical staff, with input from Dr. Anderson, determined that the best option for Jones' long-term future would be to have season-ending surgery on the toe.

Well, not to add insult to injury but it's better than turf toe this way. This can be fixed. Their able to take you toe right off and put it back on nowadays. The turf toe would follow him throughout his career. This is terrible news nonetheless.

I suggested before that FJ's injury could lead to other injuries. Rushing a guy back is not a good thing.

I would hope they will take exra precautions on Austin!

We laugh, but that is great idea. This guy will do just about anything to avoid contact, especially on special teams. What better way to avoid contact than to run the ball for a TD.

We might have found a way to use some alternate motivation.
