a lot of people were against the pick because they did not like the uncertainty.
the psychology of decision theory actually discusses how many do not make rational decisions under uncertainty.

that is partially why we got jaylon at a good price - because many gm's felt the same way.
plus the fact that the gm's could not afford taking the risk if it blew up.
jaylon may still only be an average or worse player, but i like our odds, particularly right now...

sure but kjj is a different animal. I'm just saying do not get mired in doing a lime by line analysis of all that he writes. Its what he wants and he will not address you in kind. He will just write another wall of text tangential to the discussion at hand. He's very passive aggressive.

So seeing him pick his foot back up as he is jumping doesn't affect your opinion?

You, me and I'm sure most everyone on this board can do that. It takes a lot more than that to play NFL football. I want to see him on the field in pads doing football drills and making some plays. My opinions are based on the severity of his injury and that there's no "guarantees" he'll return to the form he had in college. I'm certainly not saying he can't or he won't but until he has the pads on and has to start making football plays we won't know for sure where he is. There's a level he has to reach to play at the NFL level. Drills are one thing and making sideline to sideline tackles in pads on the field against NFL players are another thing. We'll find out in the spring and summer where he is as a football player.

Nice wall of text. I don't care about any of that and you are dissembling. I care about the nerve.

So you agree that he can lift his foot but you are not sure that his nerve has started firing. Is that a fair assessment of your position?

"That's going to remain a big question until he's cleared to practice, if he ever is."
You are questioning if he is ever cleared for practice.
never clears for practice = he never plays

That was probably hyperbole on YOUR part, but it is what it is.
I understand you are against the pick, but try to be objective on the recovery since he is already a cowboy

I never said he wouldn't be cleared to practice and you continuing to put your own spin on my comments is making you look foolish. I didn't say he "never" plays that's all coming from you. Knock off the agenda!

I don't care what you care about. I'm no doctor and if you can read I said I haven't read everything posted about Smith because there's been non stop threads about him and his progress ever since we drafted him. There's been too many conflicting reports to waste my time reading about his nerve firing and his foot drop. I'm not about to follow all this like episodes of As the World Turns. I'm not counting on him until I see him in pads making some plays. When and if he puts the pads on and is cleared to practice football that will signify he's made some significant progress.

You said before that you don't disagree that he is able to pick up his foot and you also said that you were not sure if his nerve was firing.

People that don't care do not respond directly like that. Anyway I know you see it; either that or you are cognitively challenged to the point of absurdity. You sure are ducking and dodging from it though.

Anyway enjoy writing your next wall I doubt I will be responding to it.

Show me my quote where I specifically said I don't disagree that he's able to pick up his foot?

No matter what you do you will never get him to admit to a point in an argument. You getting frustrated and continuing to argue with him is just fine with him.

His position was stupid from the get go. When I pointed out that Jaylon can lift his foot he started to change the subject. It's just what he does.

This is getting real stupid and it's all coming from you. You're continuing to twist me comments by putting your own spin on them. Show me where I said "not ever" concerning Smith?

The drive and determination #54 possess is impressive, I'm thinking we'll be seeing him on the field before the kick off calling our teams coin toss sooner than people think, having stated that ,I'm gonna mosey over to waldo p uttys thread and place a vote of 4.5

I not going to admit to something I never said. You're twisting my position because both of you have an agenda.

You guys act like this dude is a hall of fame player. He hasn't even touched the field in the NFL..

There is another thread where people predict his level of play next year. Most people think he will be a very good starter. Not quite HoF but yes people do expect him to play very well considering he was expected to be a blue chipper.

I said "no one is questioning if he's pointing his foot down and picking it back up at the top of his jump. " I have no idea about his foot drop because I haven't read any of the articles. Like I keep saying I'm not counting on him until he's cleared to practice football and starts making some plays.

Foot down on the way up

Down again to land on balls of feet.

You can stop the video in the OP and advance if frame by frame to see Jaylon bend his ankle to push his foott down and the pick it back up through the range of motion.

I was mistaken about the trampolines. He is just jumping over hurdles.

You don't understand how the two issues are directly related. It's okay. We can move on.
