First Take: Should Deion Sanders be in Ring of Honor?

My only regret is that JJ didn't sign Primetime a year earlier. "IF" he had done that we would have won 4 SBs in a row and that's the truth. Yes Primetime for ROH. He was a playmaker when he had the ball in his hands and a "playbreaker" on defense.

If they put Too Tall Jones, Harvey Martin, Jimmy Johnson and several others in there I'd consider it. Too many pure Cowboys still need to be recognized.

The difference between Haley and Deion is that Haley was the last piece of the puzzle for our defense and he played in all 3 SB wins. Deion only played in the last one and the Cowboys decline started shortly afterwards.

Absolutely not, he was just a hired gun and not a true Cowboy. I'm still waiting for Harvey Martin to be inducted.

Yes, I know, First Take. But still it's an interesting question. First off, I'm not sure I agree with this group saying that Deion "won us a superbowl" when he missed the first half of the 1995 season. Did he play well down the stretch? Yes. Was he more instrumental than anyone else on the team? I can think of 5 players before his name comes up.

That said when I look at the ROH, I see almost entirely players that stayed with the team >10 years and had consistent success. Deion was here for what, 5 years? The only thing that gives me pause is that Haley is in with only 5 years, but I would argue we couldn't have won the early 90s SB's without him (my opinion, I know many will disagree with me).

What say you about Deion?

Hell NO!

Really? what kind of hyperbole is that?

He's literally the best corner I've ever seen by a country mile.

He also should be in jail for the fraud and corruption he committed with his "school".

Haley actually finished his career in a reserve role back with the 49ers. Having said that, I would agree that on the mercenary scale Deion was slightly more mercenary than Charles was, but ultimately they were both a couple of HOFers that came into town for 5 years and helped us win, but they both missed a lot of games and eventually wore out their welcome. And Jerry decided with Haley that a 5 year shift was sufficient for RoH, so...

Didn't realize that. Thanks.

NOPE! Charles Haley has a better chance at the ROH over Neon. And that's not happening either.

Ummmmm...........

Hell No.

In fact I am in favor of wiping him from the cowboys record books and never speaking of him again.

This is a question that should never be asked.

If it wasn't for Deion the Cowboys wouldn't have won the the Super Bowl in 95. Kevin Smith got hurt and Deion was very much needed. We probably would've lost to Greenbay that year.
