Ok those are the exceptions to my being angry rule. I don't think any of those 3 fall to us, unless we move up, but if they were I'd be ok with one of them. Harvin would interest me the most.

if you like Harvin, take a peek at his pal across the way Louis Murphy

he's one of the fastest WRs in this draft, and could also be pretty good in the slot, needs some refinement though, but so does Harvin

I can see the organization bringing him in...

I don't know . . . . I think JJ wants to go with what he's got at WR right now and draft another one.

That was his public justification for letting TO go but we are terribly thin at the position. RW, Crayton, Austin, Hurd. The first two are the only ones with any type with experience. I'm not too terribly comfortable with that lineup to begin with but if one of them was to go down with an injury we are screwed. I like the idea of bringing a vet, especially someone like Holt who is known to be a great rout runner.

The Madden side of me wants to sign him, but the "GM" side of me wants us to give the young guys a chance to step up. I'd almost rather us sign someone like Toomer to a one year deal, and this way he can start if Austin doesn't show up or could provide solid depth if Austin does get the starting spot. I'm not sure that we could do the same with Holt.

Cant say Florida WR's from the spread offense excite me any.

Murphy is probably Ed Hervey part II

And Harvin isnt exactly a choir boy.

Percy Harvin will do nothing in the NFL. He's not a NFL WR, he can't run routes and he's always injured. He'll be a decent PR and that's probably it.

I don't know. Does he bring enough drama to the table?

Well you can't have everything and if he did the price tag would probably be too high for us.:laugh2:

That's funny, I was thinking just the opposite. The GM side of me knows that injuries happen. While I do have confidence in Williams, Austin and Crayton to do very well as our 123, I loath the prospect of playing an extended period without any one of the 3.

Don't know about you guys, but I still view us as a SuperBowl contender. What if we fail to draft and impactful WR and one of our top 3 suffers a season ending injury.

Now I agree any acquisition of Holt must be under favorable terms. His salary must be in line and he must understand that he will not be "given" a starting spot.

He will have to compete and win a starting spot out right.

I'd favor a 2 yr deal with low base salary, loaded with incentives for starting and playing a paticular amount of snaps.

Perhaps a 2 mil base and incentives of another 1-3 mil for playing time earned.

I can agree with you if his contract is cut-friendly and he fights for the starting spot. I just don't see him doing that.

This is the only other FA signing I would like.

Give me Holt, and then work the draft, and this team will be good!

Torry Holt is going to demand at least what TO got, thats 6.5m/yr.
He's 4 years younger almost and still has life left in his legs. NO WAY does he come here.

i dont know, holt might take a little pay cut, he still gets the salary he was due with the rams, and you could pay him a nice signing bonus,

i think holt wants one more run to win a superbowl;

i think he can help the cowboys, help romo and help tutor roy williams somewhat, in fact if you signed holt you could possibly trade crayton during the draft and help yourselves moving up in the 2nd or 3rd or one of the 4th rounds.

No thanks. Let the youngsters step up and lets see what they got. Holt will be demanding a T.O. type contract.

I'd be curious as to how much Holt would be looking for.

I would think at least around $4-5mm per year for a 2-3 year contract.
