You nailed it. Let 'er rip!

Also, Weeds could maybe use a physical inside runner if we're going to commit to running the ball more frequently, and Michael's really the best option on the team for that. Though, i have to admit that with Weeden's big arm, the idea of continuing to target LBs covering Dunbar downfield is pretty interesting. If we get the coverate, we can throw that on 3rd and long every time as far as I'm concerned. If it gets picked, it's as good as a punt. If it doesn't, it keeps us from risking the ball in traffic with a QB I don't trust to have to make big plays all on his own.

I agree! Although out of the 3 I've seen so far Dunbar is the most important and has looked the best. Very sad considering most wanted to dump him 2 weeks ago! We need to manufacture offense now!

Btw I get what you are saying at let it rip, but can't see us doing that! They will play game manager conservative football and not allow him to lose the games.

Well, I'm not having him throw it over the middle very much, unless it's a hot read like the blitz in PHI. But down along the sideline to Dunbar like Romo did twice last week if they like the matchup I'm ok with. Or maybe one to Butler if he can get free deep, just to give them something to think about. Weeden's got that big arm, you might as well use it. Again, if it's third and long, anyway, it's basically a short punt.

We're going to be throwing enough screens and dump offs to the backs, as it is. Gotta challenge them at least a few times, right?

We aren't cutting Clutts because the Head Coach wants a FB, and has decided that Clutts is the one he wants. On game day we will have 3 TE and 1 FB active. Makes it almost impossible to carry a 4th active RB who doesn't do anything on Teams. So far the RBs have been producing yards, not as much as you'd like on the ground but have been catching balls well. The OLine has had consistency issues so far, some very good plays and some very bad plays both. I just don't think the team is ready to deactivate any of the three active RBs for another guy. No we aren't Seattle fans but one should be worried that a team is willing to trade a 2nd round pick for a conditional 7th after two years, its basically saying we were going to cut the guy. That would have made him one of the earlier second round cuts.

If one of Randle or McFadden goes down I expect that Michael will be active the next week. Dunbar I'm not as sure that they might not try to find another scat back type if they could as opposed to activate Michael.

So we are taking the same approach. I haven't gotten my hopes up over our rbbc since it was announced & it has served me well.

The way I see it is this is our only hope of being above average out of all our running backs

As a fan I agree with that but even with Romo we have been checkdown city for 2 weeks. Plus outside of Williams who can really go deep?

Dunbar caught a deep one last week. (or was that against the Giants) Witten has caught several deep balls in the seam. Devin Street has the ability to get deep, but we don't know if he can do it under game conditions at the NFL level. Of course Dez when he gets back.

This board goes overboard thinking they know better than the coaches who see these guys everyday in practice.

lol, man you aint kidding, reading people talk about Ryan Williams here, you would think they were stashing a 1st ballot hall of famer on the practice squad

Butler has the speed but his hands are supposedly inconsistent .

Street can't beat Wade Phillips on a deep route! I know Dez can get deep, but he's in the tub.

Well, then it looks like McFadden is the one out. 'Cause it won't be Randle or Dunbar.

If you had read anything we've already discussed, most of us are of the believe that he should get McFadden's snaps.... So, contrary to some that believe every action that cones out of Seattle and feel he is just bench fodder, he will get his chance soon.

These next 2 months will be interesting. 1) I want us to remain in contention for the division while Romo is out. 2) I want us to experiment with some positions/players without hurting us. Specifically, I want to see an all out battle for the RB spot. I don't consider Dunbar a RB. His receiving skills are valuable but we need to see if we have a true feature back on this roster out of Randle/McFadden/Michael.
