The all or nothing attitude around all sports has kind of sucked the joy out of the pastime. That being said we are way overdue for a Super Bowl and Jerry’s got deep pockets. I just said their better, take it however you want. Conference Championship game is the final four of the NFL and a game farther than we've been in long long time.

The reality is us, Detroit and Washington haven't reached the Conference Championship game in the 27 yr time frame. I'm not sure how you spin that it isn't a big deal. In fact it seems hard not to get there in that time. Not a Fish fan.

You do not know what a "standard" means. It's the ideal. The Goal. Just because you don't meet it doesn't mean you quit.

As was said...if it's not your ultimate goal...THE STANDARD for success...why bother doing it? If it's not...then could be ONE reason you failed in the first place.

Only one team every year meets The Standard. It is, and should be...a lofty one.

...this morning on his YT channel live. My wife subs to his channel and she simply stated, why isnt the SB the standard and he was triggered in his answers. He lit her up just for stating it. She just wanted to know why the SB isnt the standard for Dak. He obviously didnt like her question. He said basically its asinine and too lofty a standard. I was spittin my coffee out as he went on his rant. It was a bit funny and typical of him I guess. But it goes to show us all what we already knew, Mike is a go along to get along Jerryite. She did mention it had been like 27 years since we been in a SB and he didn't like that very much either. He said so have a bunch of teams. Called her spoiled. Thats all he had was that. My oh my how the bar has been lowered thanks to Jerry and his minions like Mike Fisher. God Bless our team and may we win despite all this. Just wanted to share this with u all.

I just listened to it and, while I typically feel Fisher is pompous, I don't feel the content of the OP's post either reflects the content of ArmyMom's question or Fisher's response to it.

Anyone that wants to check it out, the time stamp is around the 23 minute mark.

The statement made to Fisher was "You're not the guy until you win the Super Bowl".

Fisher took that as a statement that a player can not be a franchise QB until they have a ring.

His response on standards was largely the extremely high standards that Dallas holds its players to in order for them to be considered successful. He also made sure to point out that he "loved" ArmyMom and she was one of his "63,000 favorites" which was largely podcast puffery but also his way of trying to be respectful.

Everyone else can judge it how they wish, but I don't feel the discussion here is quite correct to the actual content of the broadcast.

that because its only been 26 since our last sb win, so the 27 been used for 5 years now is bad math lol.
other tyeams like KC took 51years between sbs, Bengal's 31 between losses no wins, how long for Washington? many teams i mean took philly 60years to win there only one..it happens

I see a lot that on Twitter but it's usually younger fans. They even go so far as to say Dak is the best QB in Cowboys history, because stats.

Those of us old enough to know better know passing stats these days are higher across the board because the game has changed. When you point that out and talk about playoff success (and Dak's playoff stats) suddenly it's a team game and you get the stats of the win over 8-9 Tampa Bay. I think it's a defense mechanism to maintain hope but it's possible they actually believe what they're saying.
