Because this team is back in the dumpster. We have a fake GM, many other teams have a good one.

Strike 2? :laugh2: As if it's a good thing that JJ thinks he doesn't need to replace the most talented person in the front office. The strike is on us fans who'll soon be suffering through the Dallas Cowboys of 6 years ago.

With Jerry Jones firmly in control and 2 of his top 3 personnel men gone, we're like the lobster - what game was that from? - that isn't dead, but it's in the tank at the restaurant.

you make no sense. this "fake" GM got the people together you're so hellbent to now keep.

like i said - with some "people" jones can't win.

This is what happens when you have a deluded oil man who thinks he is a bonafide NFL general manager.

Scouts know there is a ceiling to their advancement here because Jones will never give up his fake GM duties.

The ones in Dallas are constantly on the lookout for better jobs where advancement is possible.

So if the Cowboys personel heads down the shatter you know exactly who to blame yet again.

Don't blame Bill Parcells.

Blame Jerry Jones for not being man enough to admit he isn't a GM and step aside for Jeff Ireland.
Great post

oh lord. i didn't know this was national drama queen day.

what if we keep winning? will you just shift your hatred around a bit or admit jones has learned?

while we're playing "what if" you see....

It's probably no big deal. I'm sure he was just another one of the information gatherers and data organizers.

Jerry needs to go out and hire a real GM because i certainly dont want to see him making the decisions on future players (draft mainly) and coaches. if Jones makes all the decisions we are in for some dark times again...

you doni't want him to hire garrett?
you don't want him to also listen to the (2) other people on the scouting dept who are also very talented in their own right?

i swear to god some people are not happy unless doom and gloom is what's coming.

let's wait and see how this plays out, shall we?

To he!! with Parcells, I am officially done liking him, he is a slime ball as far as I am concearned. He has a lot of nerve raiding our staff after the way he publically called Payton out for going after players and staff when he left. What a joke! Jerry was stupid for letting Ireland go with out compensation, he just got walked all over.

What's funny is he's only the GM because he gave himself that title. No other team in the league would've ever hired an oilman to be their GM.

And even with his 3 Super Bowls, no one would hire him as a GM because they all know he wasn't responsible for them.

Who can blame him? Go to Miami and work for 2 great football guys in Parcells and Ireland, or stay in Dallas and work for an egomaniac owner masquerading as a GM. Pretty easy choice.

If a real football guy doesn't show up at VR soon, we'll be back to perennial 5-11 seasons.

Yea, I would pick a 1-15 team in the Pats division over a 13-3 #1 seed also

:lmao:

you're jones. what do you do?

after all, you said he was stupid for not getting compensation for ireland. so you're jones. tell me, what do you do?

please, give me more than "i dunno...something". or "i'd swallow my pride and let him be GM!"

old arguments have long since lost their entertainment value.

how do you get compensation for someone who's allowed to leave for a promotion?

let us know.

technically - by your own mantra, he was still responsible for 1.

30% and all is about 1/3. do i need to do the math from here or are you with me on this one?

I couldn't name one owner in the league that would hire Jerry Jones to be their gm. Except for the owner in Dallas.

What are you talking about it is clear that Parcells has final say over personnel decisions, Jerry definately had the right to ask for compensation or block the move.

Well, there's no room for advancement here. Jones has his self-appointed title he won't relinquish. He appears set on not replacing Ireland, so no one can even move up to that position. Miami is definitely a worse team right now, but guys would probably rather work in their scouting dept with quality football men than here with an owner who thinks this is his real life fantasy team.

so he blocks it.

now when contracts run out and ireland leaves, who can you now hire? i mean, you won't let people advance. you stop them.

3 years ago did you know irelands name? just curious.

and no - legally or contractually, jones could not have blocked the move. you can live in fantasyland if you want, but he couldn't do it.

if only fans would be fans of teams they seem to admire instead of whining like an unpaid thai hooker after a military gang bang at things that won't change.

True. That's why he isn't even a great owner. A great owner would hire the best personnel man he could find and make him GM. Jerry would rather that man be himself, regardless of whether it's the best thing for the team or not.

I'm not feeling too superior about a GM who has his hands on marketing, a new stadium, and everything else instead of football matters like every other GM/personnel man in this league.
Take a look at the Cowboys drafts from 1994-2002 when Jerry didn't have a strong football man next to him in the draft room, and tell me how he did.
