no, the common sense that swallowed pride and hired parcells.

it seems when jones hires a dominate personality at coach, the coach gets all the credit and jones is still an idiot, even though he hired the very type of coach the haters said he'd never do.

jones simply can't win with some.
What have we seen from him the last week? He downplays Ireland's departure as a non-factor, and reasserts that he's the one making decisions. I see nothing that convinces me that the Jerry Jones from 2002 isn't firmly in command of this football team.

Honestly, can you say you'd rather have Jerry Jones making the decisions on personnel, or Parcells and Jeff Ireland?

From Jones' own mouth, you can tell this one was tough to swallow.

So the franchise is destroyed, right?

eh, you're not bad at all. It's the ones that act as if it is a mere inevitability that this team will be 5-11 perenially that get my goat.

I had many arguments about Jones hiring a real coach. Then he up and hires Parcells. I could never have been more happy to be wrong. So from that day on I started giving him the benefit of the doubt. I just hope it stays that way.

Teamed up with the right people I love Jerry. The Jerry who thought he knew best, not so much.:)

what would you like him to do? light his anal-gas on fire and run around going WE'RE DOOMED WE'RE DOOMED!!!
we have enough of that in here.

is this the jerry in 2002 that brought in parcells? yes or no?
is this the jones who brought in owens anyway and now our team can't do w/o owens? tell me, THIS JONES?

this the one who went out and got garrett before a HC so you jerry-moaners can say he fouled by hiring garrett first and now yet, we simply can't lose him?

feel free to stop me if this isn't the same jones.

How would you have handled it?

Just for giggles, I would rather have Parcells and ireland.

lol, I remember the people that were burning Jerry in effigy cause he hired Jason before Wade, saying this was proof that Wade was merely Jerry's "puppet" and we were doomed.

I have a question is this all a set up by Jones to get the Dolphins number 1 for a cheaper price by letting Ireland and his assistant go?

yes. and there's a player behind the grassy knoll to be named later.

Is he bringing in a veteran head coach that can build a team the way Parcells did? Obviously not. If and when Wade is gone, the assumption is Garrett will take over.

Is he bringing in a GM or equivalent replacement for Ireland? Nope. He'll find some young guy and roll the dice that he can do the job.

Answer me this....how many teams would consider Jerry Jones for a front office personnel job, amongst the teams he doesn't own? Take your time and answer carefully.

we haven't even lost a choach yet and you want jones to be bringing people in before we even play our 1st playoff game?

he said he won't replace ireland - so no dice rolling. strike 2.

answer me this - why does it bug you so much when it won't change? he's not going to fire himself so you can get upset all you want and jones just won't care. so why do you? take your time and chill out.

Because this team is back in the dumpster. We have a fake GM, many other teams have a good one.

Strike 2? :laugh2: As if it's a good thing that JJ thinks he doesn't need to replace the most talented person in the front office. The strike is on us fans who'll soon be suffering through the Dallas Cowboys of 6 years ago.

With Jerry Jones firmly in control and 2 of his top 3 personnel men gone, we're like the lobster - what game was that from? - that isn't dead, but it's in the tank at the restaurant.

Ireland is employed and working for Miami,

We get no compensation -

What a pessimistic view of things...

Why are you worrying about a hypothetical event that may or may not occur?

What I more or less thought, another Jerry basher that won't give Jerry any credit for what he's done post-2002.

please calm down. anyone ever leave to go to another job once a co-worker left? not the end of the world, just part of doing business and change.

This is what happens when you have a deluded oil man who thinks he is a bonafide NFL general manager.

Scouts know there is a ceiling to their advancement here because Jones will never give up his fake GM duties.

The ones in Dallas are constantly on the lookout for better jobs where advancement is possible.

So if the Cowboys personel heads down the shatter you know exactly who to blame yet again.

Don't blame Bill Parcells.

Blame Jerry Jones for not being man enough to admit he isn't a GM and step aside for Jeff Ireland.

again, more premature whining and kvetching.

So true. We saw what happened when Jerry did it his way. When he finally got desperate and brought in BP is why we started winning again.

The ball is now in his court. Who is he going to surround himself with now/ Because we're screwed if he tries to do it with him making the decisions and not just having "final say".

Jerry needs to go out and hire a real GM because i certainly dont want to see him making the decisions on future players (draft mainly) and coaches. if Jones makes all the decisions we are in for some dark times again...
