Garrett offered Ravens coaching job

ESPN radio at the top of the hour said, according to Ed Werder, that Garrett is 60-40 to take the job, but Jerry has promised to match any financial offer.
That's an interesting number Werder. My guess is 57.5% he takes it and 42.5% he doesn't. I do have a 40% margin of error.

1) Reports claim Jerry will match his salary.

2) Does he think he is ready?

3) Reports say he wants his family in Texas.

4) Career wise, you retain a HC salary until you move into the top job. You are protected from scrunity during this time, because Wade will have the bull's eye on him.

5) Baltimore has a lot of age on their roster. How long will they allow Garrett to retool the organization?

6) Their front office will call all the shots just like in Dallas.

7) Tony Romo and a young nucleus to work with.

8) Good salary cap management and a new stadium to draw Free agents.

9) Jerry wants you there BAD!

10) For GOD sakes its the DALLAS COWBOYS...

LOL can you see Garrett making like 3million / year to stay in Dallas?

Yeah I make more than the HC. Let's call plays. ;)

Its hard to see the upside in the Baltimore job, good front office structure but thats about it.

Well I can understand why you would think that, especially the fire and emotion part...but besides Pitts last SB win with him he had a mediocre record in the post season. Im not sold on him...wouldnt worry about it much though I really don't see him coming here.

63% winning percentage over 15 seasons is darn good.

12-9 in the post season w/ 2 SB appearances is a helluva lot better than 0-4.

If it took 10+ seasons for Wade to win a Super Bowl in Dallas and he still had a job people would be jumping off bridges.

That is also indicative of a lot more chances, with his own team as well.

Only good part of this is "Garrett has not made a decision yet." If he takes it I can't blame him but I hope he choose to stay.

I would.... "blame" him....

He will have plenty of opp's in the future to get a HC job. I have no doubt.

Teams have brought back Art Shell, Joe "CryptKeeper" Gibbs, Bill Parcells, etc...

And a Super Bowl which Seattle clearly got robbed by the officials....

Kind of like having a GM that hasn't won a playoff game in 11 years.

Wade is old. Cowher was very young when he took the Pitt job. Completely different situation.

That is the whole deal. Cowher is a good coach but he did not win SB right off the bat. Our own Tom Landry went through disappointments vs Cleveland, Green Bay and Balt before we ever got to a SB and Dallas fans wanted him gone because he was called a choker whose team could not win the big one. Fortunately we had an owner who stuck by Landry and Cowher had an owner who stuck by him when the masses wanted them gone.

You don't like the HC. You don't like the GM.

Why even watch the team? Is it the laundry? Do you like the blue fabric?

yeah did you see where I said except for the past SB run? without that he is under .500. And he was there for a LONG time.

Because I like the team.

Why do you like a GM who has presided over a team that hasn't won a playoff game in 11 years?
