Those two first round picks aren't enough. It will most likely take both 2008 first round picks and 2009 first round pick plus maybe a second round pick.

3 1st round picks? not likely, 2 for sure, and a 2nd in either the '08 or '09 drafts, and probably a 5th

I like our RB situation. Why trade up? We're going to have two first round picks, and with a 10-1 team, have the luxury of taking the best player available.

a 10-1 team usually only needs 1 or 2 players to put them over the top, we don't have a dynamic back, we could definitely use one, can you just imagine our O w/ the passing game we already have, and the running game we could potentially get?

and daudr, you're ridiculous, what you're saying is pretty much the same as saying, "I read 1 chapter of my Anatomy book, pass me the scalpel"

I would rather sign Julius and keep the draft picks. That may not be a popular opinion around here I know.

I would not resign Julius until after the draft.

Even if we don't trade up.

There is still a chance we could use one of our first 3-4 picks to get a running back that could be as good or possibly better than Julius.

let me clarify as well, D-Mac isn't my end all, be all, I'd still love to see Jonathan Stewart w/ a star on his helmet, he's going to be following in the foot-steps of Steven Jackson and Marshawn Lynch, coming out of the Pac-10 IMO

we just can't go into next year w/ the same Julius/Barber combo, that's all I care about

this is how I feel.

I this order I want

1-Darren McFadden (not gonna happen)
2-Michael Turner (could be the big play threat we've been lacking)
3-Steve Slaton
4-Felx Jones
5-Ray Rice
6-Jonathan Stewart

Lets create a hypothetical scenario...

1) lets say we'll need to get to 3rd pick to get DMac
2) lets say we'll get 30th pick this year and next year (even though I think it will be 32nd ;)).
3) lets say Browns 1st round pick end up at 20th.

3rd pick value points = 2,200 points

20th pick value points = 850
30th pick value points = 620 x 2 = 1,240 (keep in mind that 2009's draft pick is devalued for 2008 draft trade)

1,240 + 850 = 2,090 (not enough for 3rd pick)

add our 2008 3rd round draft pick = 124 + 2,090 = 2,214

So, we'll need give whoever 2008's two #1s, 2009 #1 and this year's 3rd round pick in order to get to 3rd pick in 2008.

Now, I understand the value chart isn't end all, be all but does give some guidelines for trade values.

I wouldn't mind Mike Hart

:laugh2: <--------- HOMER

Just stirring the pot here but he hasn't fumbled in about 1,000 carries, may be over 1,000 now.

BTW, did DMac fumble today?

Twice (while I was watching), lost one and recovered one but he more than made up with his great performance against the #1 team.

BPA will be him.. imagine the possibliites..

Romo

TO, Glenn, Crayton

Witten

Our Oline

DMac and Barber...

and the way our D is picking things up could spell potential dynasty...
Wade's Defenses always seem to shine in the 2nd 3rd years anyway

i would rather get felix jones than slaton. jones is 6 foot 200 pounds. slaton is 5'10 185 pounds.

Anyone seen much of Matt Forte' from Tulane? Leading rusher in the country I believe, who is getting a lot of recent attention from NFL scouts and GMs.

Forte' is a big, tall guy who looks like a young Eddie George but with better feet.

I'm not completely sure how much he weighs, but I've seen 195 on most sites, which isn't bad for 5'10. The whole back-up RB thing just bothers me though. I realize Slaton would back-up McFadden too, but it just bothers me.

All anyone needs to know about McFadden can be seen in his 73 yard TD. An elite speed back looked like he was running in wet concrete when he was being run down from behind until the QB threw a block downfield.

Looks great rolling up yardage against a bunch of guys that will be bagging groceries on Sundays next fall.

They're never on so i haven't seen him. Walters has him rated #20(draft eligible players) and Scott Wright has him the 7th ranked senior. With his numbers i'd think he'll be middle round pick. Another guy from that Conf. that'll go early if he comes out is Kevin Smith.
