Good bye D mac

The Browns are 3rd in the league in points...

Braylon is a human highlight reel this season... Winslow has been playing well, JJ is what he is and Jamal Lewis has even contributed.

And the OLine we agreed is flying under the radar.

You are one greedy man Ice. "More Weapons" lol

derek anderson is making all the difference there. they'd be stupid to ship him off and keep quinn at this point. give anderson some real weapons and he can be a top qb in this league.

but you said, "give Anderson some real weapons"

you didn't say give him more

I don't read in between lines that aren't there

why in the name of unholy norse gods do you have to make simple convo a fight?

winslow is a good TE. for the first time in his career he didn't end his year before it started. let's all rejoice and the obvious success that is winslow.

edwards is a good WR but not gonna get the world on fire.

s for lines not there, you just assume and slap. one big reason i stopped posting for so long was the overall desire for so many in here to go for the nuts at any opportunity.

keep it.

if our entire team was the browns, would you feel like you had enough to beat the pats?

Like I said, they need DEFENSIVE help.

Besides us, Miami and Indy the Browns scored the most points than anyone else on the Pats' schedule so far.

That ain't bad.

you didn't happen to catch last year's numbers for Winslow did you? I didn't think so

btw, and that was after a terrible injury

you have yet to see a Brown's game I take it...

I responded simply to what you wrote, I don't know what the hell you mean other that what you write, and I responded accordingly

but glad to see that you've changed your argument, which is one I agree w/, he could use more weapons, and a defense, but to say he needs to get real weapons is a slap in the face of 2 very good players, and 2 solid ones, not to mention those 5 guys on the line which you think are pretty good too

It is similar to when Cincy had Kitna and drafted palmer. Eventually they will have to justify the cost.

do they have enough on O to get them to the top.

i never said a word about D, only that anderson could use some help.

what a bad bad man i am for that.

I just wanted you to justify your statement a little bit, what a bad man I am for expecting someone to give reason in their opinion.

yo - mr arrogance.

i didn't change it - it just took you a bit to understand it through normal convo.

not my problem.

I don't go around "slapping" people who state something that is correct

I'd hope that everyone would set me straight if I said something off the wall too

you're like that guy on the Kinkos' commercial

"Bob, keep thinking everyone is out to get you"

"they are" <= that guy

Except Kitna had pretty much sucked it up for several years before drafting Palmer. Kitna was 30 when they drafted Palmer and never looked the part until that one season after drafting Palmer. Anderson's only 24 and is in his first real year of starting.

Lets create a hypothetical scenario...

1) lets say we'll need to get to 3rd pick to get DMac
2) lets say we'll get 30th pick this year and next year (even though I think it will be 32nd ;)).
3) lets say Browns 1st round pick end up at 20th.

3rd pick value points = 2,200 points

20th pick value points = 850
30th pick value points = 620 x 2 = 1,240 (keep in mind that 2009's draft pick is devalued for 2008 draft trade)

1,240 + 850 = 2,090 (not enough for 3rd pick)

add our 2008 3rd round draft pick = 124 + 2,090 = 2,214

So, we'll need give whoever 2008's two #1s, 2009 #1 and this year's 3rd round pick in order to get to 3rd pick in 2008.

Now, I understand the value chart isn't end all, be all but does give some guidelines for trade values.

3 first rounders + a 3rd???

As much as I love DMac, that is kinda pricey. I would have to think long and hard about that trade offer.:(

Let me preface this by saying that I haven't even watched him play a full game yet this year, but from what I've seen he doesn't look like the god that some people on here make him seem. To me he's an inferior version of Reggie Bush.

Yet you feel you should throw in your .02?

The fact that you in think he's 1) inferior to Bush, and 2) a Bush type RB proves you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

McF is a great back. But jerrah has gotten a post graduate course in GM from BP the last four years. I do not believe he will take the chance at trading that many #1 picks for one player- he too well remembers the last time he did that and what a mistake it was. We would have to trade both our #1's and probably our #2 to get him- just too much.

The last time JJ did that we had an aging, declining team with LOTS of holes to fill.

Now we have a young, UPSTART team with almost no holes to fill.

Completely different scenarios. JJ would do it and you know he would do it. He said he'd do it this year for the right player, and there were lots of draft rumors saying the cowboys tried to trade up for Calvin.

TheSkaven;1785961 said:
I like our RB situation. Why trade up? We're going to have two first round picks, and with a 10-1 team, have the luxury of taking the best player available.

You like our situation at RB now, but what about next year when we don't have JuJo?

You want The Barbarian to split carries with Tyson freakin' Thompson?

All anyone needs to know about McFadden can be seen in his 73 yard TD. An elite speed back looked like he was running in wet concrete when he was being run down from behind until the QB threw a block downfield.

Looks great rolling up yardage against a bunch of guys that will be bagging groceries on Sundays next fall.

Wow.

Braylon Edwards is no knife (edit, sorry, a bbgun :p) and the Browns' offensive line is easily one of the most underrated units in the NFL right now.

:hammer:

The Browns have one of the most impressive offenses in the NFL. A TRUE #1 WR (edwards is right up there with Owens and Moss. Maybe a tad bit behind them), Winslow is a great recieving TE, and their OL is rock solid (and Bentley still hasn't even played yet).

Not to mention Jamal Lewis is playing very good for them too. They'll probably resign him.

If not for Adrian Peterson, Joe Thomas would be Rookie of the Year.
