I wish they would take "Dak friendly" out of you guys vocabluary....when they wanted to make this team "Romo friendly" I didn't hear one complaint....but for some reason "Dak friendly" means they want Dak's deficiencies minimized. Oh because they are getting him receivers that actually match his skillset and what he's good at...players who catch and run routes well....yeah......what a "Dak friendly offense".
actually i blame the Cowboys for coining that stupid term..
you shouldn't make anything more friendly to your QB , if he cant run your full playbook, hes not your future guy..the romo friendly offense was simply getting him better Blockers and a running game AFTER he already got way too many injurys..it was change in philosophy from Romo go win with no help and that didnt work so too little too late they decided to go run first , draft better olinemen , and try and keep Romo upright..
Dak friendly seems to be more of we need to run more of his college offense and use his skill set for rpos and go away from a timing based route system etc etc nothing to do with Wrs but again if you have to cut half your playbook tpo cater to one players skillset, hes not the guy.. I said that back when Ryan was running that Crazy defense and it wasn't working and they decided to go more vanilla for the Cbs and Lbs to better understand their responsibility's.. im sorry but no team should do that..
adding afew plays that Dak likes from his college days is just fine but reducing the playbook and changing route trees to me is saying he cant handle our offense..we blame the coaches for not being creative and being vanilla, maybe they don't have the confidence in their players...it begs to question which came first..
I say you throw the entire book at Dak this year and he either picks it up or he doesn't..theres a reason guys like Tim Teebow/Manziel/Kap/others who obviously were athletic and skilled enough to play in the NFL had their careers cut short, it was OC and coaches not wanting to only use a tailored down offense that eventually is easy to figure out how to stop.. they decided they need both athleticism and a leadership combined to a cerebral player but if they had to sacrifice they rather have a stiff cerebral QB over an Athletic one who can only run half the playbook efficiently..
so don't placate players throw it all at them and see how they come out the other end..
